Low coolant level?

I just recently had my car in for regular scheduled service & maintenance about a month ago.

Today while I was getting my car detailed, I looked into my engine bay and noticed that my coolant level was near "Low".

Is this normal/acceptable? Should it always be at full? Why wasn't this topped up at my service appointment - I mean, I paid for it.

I have some time today to go to my local dealer but wanted to get some advice form the public first.

How recently had you turned off the car? I assume you drove it to the detail location.

Its fine I will fill mine up and it always goes back down to around that level and stays there when cold.

Yea i was going to say, mine seems to stay pretty low no matter what.

That plus the warm engine, looks totally normal to me.

Just add a bit to be on the safe side, it's nothing to be worry about unless you are in the middle of a really long trip.

Let's be very clear here. That is a coolant expansion/overflow tank and does not reflect the level of the cooling system. Yes, some will need to be added if bone dry but as long as something is in it then the coolant system is not "low".

As long as you are between low and high you are fine.

If you are paranoid, add some distilled water.
