Strut Hitting Fender Well, Help!

2 Attachment(s)
So I after I installed my camber plates and got an alignment I started hearing a loud clunk when going up curbs into driveways. Sounded like something was loose and hitting. Just got the car up on jack stands and noticed the strut/coil was rubbing the inside fender well which I am assuming is causing the noise. I can feel/hear it on the driver side predominantly but it also shows wear on the passenger side.

I had them set camber to -3.3 in the front.

Anyone have any idea what I did wrong or could be causing this?

Here are some pics of what I saw.

Are you still on factory struts? It looks like there isn't enough room to get -3.3 without contact (obviously). You might try using camber bolts and backing off the camber up top some.

Well there seems to be too much offset in the camber plate allowing the strut to contact the inner walls. With OEM type coil and perches, there isn't a whole lot of space there for tilting the alignment over by upper mounts, so the only solution will be to back off the camber till it clears the inner walls at compression.

Cusco has a extended lower arm now, which can be used to gain camber by extending the bottom king-pin location rather than at the top. Which moves the assembly outward rather than inward too, if you need to keep -3.3 or more.

I am still on factory struts.

I have camber bolts in the upper perch slot as well.

No one else has this problem on stock struts? or am I only the only one with stock struts at that much camber?

So I guess the solution is to just dial back the camber?

Nope, tub the front and add more camber.

Come on, man...

what wheel/tire specs are you running? just curious as to why you need -3.3 while on stock struts instead of coilovers

Did you install this yourself or have a shop professionally install this? If the shop installed this without the proper alignment....horrible job.

Stock wheel size, Hankook Rs3. I am running that amount of camber per what CSG recommend for my track days.

I had installed them myself but had a shop do the alignment. I will be going tomorrow to have the alignment redone, maybe they can get more camber from the bolts and reduce the amount set from the plates.

Update

I went to a recommended alignment shop today to get everything setup again because I installed adjustable toe arms. Ended up being the previous shop did not even use the camber bolt adjustment and just used the camber plates maxed out.

Car has a great alignment now done properly.

-3.2 Camber front
0 toe front,
-2.2 camber rear
1/16 total toe rear
6.8 caster
