Jdl el catted ultra quiet over front pipe 2.5 Perrin resonated

Hi I am new to the forum so excuse me if I am of topic and also I am sorry for my English you see I am from Greece.

My question is this what do you think of this setup I am thinking of a jdl el catted header jdl ultra quiet over front pipe and 2.5 Perrin resonated cat back exhaust does anyone have this setup what do you think in terms of loudness an power gains. I want a quiet exhaust set up for when I am cruising and when I step my foot on the gas above 4000 or 5000 rpm to scream like its a monster not a stupid loud sound but a deep sound like a scream.

If someone has this set up I want to hear a clip if possible.

I don't know of many people using the EL catted header from JDL. But I can confirm that the UQFP + Perrin 2.5 resonated will sound nice and deep. It will probably sound like mine, but a little quieter, and without the rumbles:

You can't go wrong with that setup. Will keep the car nice and quiet and will produce a nice, non-raspy tone because all of those exhaust components are good quality. I say go for it!

What do you think about drone will it produce any because I really don't want that. Also about power gains will it be about 10 whp or not?

Yeah. If you get it tuned you should get about that much and you will not get much to any drone with that setup.

@DimitrisThat is my set-up, except that I have a normal catted front pipe, not the JDL Ultra Quiet front pipe. Sound is amazing. Volume is low when behaving and makes some good noise when I'm not behaving. No real drone, you just know the exhaust is there at 80+mph.

Lots of sound clips: www.youtube.com/thebatstig

thank you for your help and answers the question now is can i change something in this setup to make it better in terms of sound and power for sound less in low rmp range and more in high rmp range and abot power i really dont care about mid range i want the high end power that is why i chose the el header but also i dont like the rumble.

does just the header + tune eliminate that horrible torque dip?

Rifle 04-04-2016 02:42 AM

Just to throw my .02 in..

I'm running Tomei EL, PLM OP, HKS Dual Resonated Front Pipe, and Perrin 2.5 Resonated. To reiterate, I'm FULL CATLESS, but I do have 2 extra resonators. That being said, I have absolute 0 drone with the Perrin, as opposed to the Invidia N1 that I had. I'm sure you're trying to be carb compliant with the catted header, but do yourself a favor, get a catless header, and keep a hi-flow catted front pipe. Most places for inspection won't even bother to remove the under panel shrouds to check for 'tampering', you'll want a tune regardless, because anything outside of OEM MAY produce codes. Good luck!

Almost entirely. This is with a full exhaust and E85 tune, but just a header+tune will give you a similar torque curve.

@JGalp Yup.

What exhaust setup are you running and what does a stock car make on that dyno?

Stock car does between 165-172 on that dyno. My pulls were on a 96*F afternoon, so I could probably go higher on a cooler day.

Exhaust:
JDL catless UEL
JDL 2.5" OP
JDL 2.5" UQFP (high flow cat and resonator)
Perrin 2.5" resonated catback

Other factors that probably played a role:
apexi drop-in filter
OFT E85 tune

I'm going to make some more pulls soon now that I'm on ECUtek to compare with OFT.
