205/60R16 will it fit?
 

I searched. This is NOT really something people do but hey,

I run 205/55R16 as winter rubber, and have someone willing to give me Nokian Hakkapelita for free, but size is 205/60R16. Now these are pretty expensive tires so if I can source some for free...well!

I only want real life experiences, not "yes it should fit" please...;)

I need to take off my current tires from these 16' rims and don't want to do it and find out it rubs everywhere afterwards...

The new tire will be about an inch taller than stock, so you'll have about a half inch less clearance than the factory 215/45R17.

I think that's fine. Your speedometer will be off by around 4.5%.

I sure can do that but it won't tell me if there is any rubbing from suspension travel...

There is about an inch diff.

Dang, here I am trying to sell continental winter tires sized 215/55/16 on forester steelies for a hundred bucks, lol.

The winter shoes I have now are still pretty good, but these Nokian are just the BEST you can get. If they fit, I want them!

People run 265/35/18s, 2 inches lowered. There's a 7mm difference between those sizes.

For reference, these cars stock have less than 65mm of total bump travel in the front, and that's including the 60mm bump stop.

Even if I had fit these tires to my car, without knowing what offset wheels you're running, there's no way to be definitive. If you're running stock offset wheels, you'll be fine. It'll only be problematic if you're running like +60 offset. I ran +53 offset wheels with negative camber and lowered on stock struts all winter.

Makes sense. I'm running Subaru steelies so offset is probably same or close to stock.

The 265/35R18 you're mentioning is still not as tall as a 205/60R16 (642mm vs 652mm)

That 100mm bugs me a little, but I guess I'll just have to try...

Ok well this is proof then. 677mm for yours versus 652mm for mines.
