HELP! CEL after trip from WORKS.
So, if you guys already read my last post, I got my WORKS Stage 2 Turbo kit installed at WORKS about a month ago. I took my car back for the DT Flex fuel kit, dw fuel pump and injectors, WORKS oil regulator/cooler, and also had them put in a boost gauge for me, all installed at WORKS.
The car was driving fine on the way home for about 30 miles then suddenly threw a CEL. The car seems to be running with no problems but the CEL worries me. Should I worry and not drive the car until I talk to WORKS or have someone look at? Anyways, the car made over 280 whp on the e85 flex fuel tune. Will put up the dyno chart tomorrow. Can it be the new pump and/or injectors or oil cooler, or maybe tune? Well any tips will be useful for now, until I talk to them on Monday. |
read out cel code could be anything.
talk to your tuner drive car as little as possible and slowly till you find out what problem is. |
I tried resetting ecu by removing the negative on the battery, thinking it might be a hiccup but, the CEL came back again after about 20 miles of driving. Car idles fine, no stalls, nothing unusual, blue tooth app reads 42% ethanol. Will have a nearby auto shop do a CEL read tomorrow.

Since you now have a modded car, it would be a good investment to buy an obd2 reader to be able to read and clear and codes. I keep a Bluetooth obd2 reader around along with the torque app for Android on my phone for times like these.

havent read any of your past posts, but do you have aftermarket headers or cats? might just be throwing codes for your catalytic converter. had that happen to me once, nothing bad.

Auto Zone will read a code for free. Cheap code reader is a must.

Spends thousands on a FI upgrade, not smart enough to buy a datalogger/CEL reader in advance. Less useless? You DO realize that it is imperative to log data on a FI setup, ESPECIALLY right after a new tune? It cost me a whole $18 for a OBDII reader and the torque app. And I use the OBDII reader to read & clear codes on all of my other cars. |

He is obviously made a oversight on getting a reader and is a little panicked. No need to diss. :) |
