Vacuum lines - Hard or SS braided.

I'm intrested, is anyone running a custom hard vacuum lines for the BOV, WG and so on? Or even a custom SS braided?

I see this is a practice with or higher end cars that don't want to deal with heat cracking the lines and causing boost or vacuum leaks.

I'm thinking of giving myself a fun project that doesn't break the bank.

It's just a silly jacket over normal vacuum lines.
You can buy just the jacket and bling it up. Or spend a few and buy one already on.
It's up to you.

But really it offers little protection. Just makes it look cool.

Scroll through my build thread, I use braided lines for my wastegate and hard lines for my turbo coolant and crank case vent. My wastegate line runs past the manifold so I also heat sleeve it.

sorry but that's not correct
proper aerospace / aeroquip braided hose is proof to at least 100bar internal pressure ( for the small bore any way) and the braid protects the inner hose from any chance of fretting through due to general mishandling or impact

there's a reason its de rigeur choice on aircraft and racing cars...

Yea I think I will be going to SS braided lines with my new motor, then again I see tons of other high hp cars not running SS lines

It's really case by case. On my car the wastegate lines runs between the crank pulley and manifold so I wanted something I can rely on. The blow off line is up and out of the way so that's a normal silicon line.
