Is the Scion brand dead?
I'm not really one to believe everything off the internet.
I know there are a ton of rumour/bullshit sites everywhere but Motortrend and Autoguide are sites that I do trust. http://www.motortrend.com/news/breaking-toyota-gives-scion-brand-the-axe/ http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...on-brand-.html There's supposed to be some formal announcement from Toyota this morning. |

Holy Shit! :eyebulge: has anyone seen this yet? This is pretty ground breaking news

Well I guess they will be selling the face-lift AWD Hybird Turbo model as a Toyota finally

Cross-post from another forum I'm on (I just wrote this):
I've always hated explaining the Scion brand to people when asked about my FR-S: "ok so basically in the early 2000s, Toyota wanted a more youth-oriented brand blah blah blah Subaru makes the car blah blah blah". Funny, it was this last Sunday that I was at a friend's house, helping her with some car shopping. We zeroed in on the iM because it's "a practical 4-door hatch that isn't a Mazda". Maybe she can get a deal on one as they go through the exit process. |

It's official. There's the press release directly from Toyota. FR-S looks like it will live on, with Toyota badges. No word on whether they'll keep it as FR-S or bring the name in line with the rest of the world (GT or GT86). |
yes.

I want it named as Toyota 86
|
As much as I'd prefer they renamed it the GT86 like the rest of the world, we'll probably get it as the Toyota FRS...
