5x114.3 hub conversion
Hi all
Sorry disappoint, this is a technical question not a how to. After any info on how to do this conversion on a fr-s/86. I understand that there are more wheels out there and custom pcds are avail on order. I just want to know if its a viable option. I have had a brief search but this is limited on my phone so if there is already a tech article please link me, if not I guess this can be it. Thanks in advance Chris |
greddy is already working on one but we definitely need it

We recently had a thread about it:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8296 It's not going to be an easy or inexpensive process. |
anyone taken the stock discs off and checked to see how much meat is on the stock hubs, to see if it's possible to just redrill them to 5x114.3 and do the same to the discs...
Otherwise I'm sure there will be kits available using stuff from the subaru/toyota parts bin or stuff like this: http://www.licmotorsports.com/produc...i_lic-03079012 |
Greddy did do this but has not put it into production due to the lack of requests. I just sent an email to their product request team. If enough people send an email we may have a solution.

could always grind down stock studs and use project kics conversion spacers with studs on them.
bulletproof has the 10mm conversion spacers. i already ordered 5x100 wheels so im just going to stick with them until i get bored and hope there is a full 5x114 conversion setup down the road. |
The problem used to be the front hubs did not fit the 5x114.3 coil overs. So it would mean you needed to find a set or redrilled STi hubs.
You would need: 5x114.3 Hubs (new seals and bearings if used) 5x114.3 Brakes (brake lines, Calipers, Brackets, Rotors) 5x114.3 Axles (ends would be different but not sure on the r200) 5x114.3 Wheels 5x114.3 Coil overs (mount point to hub) What I recommend is for everyone to hang tight. The wheel companies are playing catch up. Once they do the same wheels in 5x114.3 will be here for the 5x100. The nice part of 5x114.3 is the easier bear change, longer service life and wide wheels. Wide wheels are not going to matter much as there is only so much room for them. And your not making enough power to spin them. Remember light wheels for light power. |

There really is no need for 5x114.3 on these cars. |

Bolt in bearings all around. All Subarus have had bolt in bearings all around since 08/09. The rear conversion is probably pretty straightforward. Would just need to re-drill the rotors. The front, not so much. You can't just take an sti upright/bearing and put it on these cars. Ball joint and abs tone ring are completely different plus an sti hub will get pulled right out of the bearing without an axle bolted through it. Quote:

wrx brakes will fit sti hubs.

The hubs are the same on the FRS, I looked on our shop car and you can slid a axle right in there. So your not going to loose a hub without a axle. They made them just like GMC does on the trucks. 2wd and 4wd use same hubs. |
hmmm. Pretty sure the wrx hat is smaller than the sti hub but I could be mistaken. Well, still doubt there's room to re-drill the hub and the front sti hub/bearing won't fit in the brz upright.

Javid's still around, and might still make the parts if you ask. I got a set of tone ring adapters from him not too long ago. Just don't expect a quick turnaround.
LIC does their own conversion uprights now and they are awesome guys so that is the place to get stuff. But absolutely none of that applies to the FRS. |
