Mtec Shiftet Springs

Has anyone had any trouble when installing the Mtec shifter springs from speed factory? I did the driver side no problem, but can't seem to get the passenger side to start without cross threading!! Had to walk away from it for tonight. Their video makes it look so easy, and it really should be. How did everyone else fair when doing this install?

You need to clean the green loctite off the threads of the transmission or else you'll end up cross threading and having to retap the hole.. ask me how I know :suicide:

The issue for a lot of guys is the locktite in the threads of the trans. Try scraping the excess green locktite out of the threads with a pick, just be careful not to damage the threads.

If you still have trouble, you can remove the front pipe to get more room and a better angle.

Do I dare ask?!?! That's exactly what I don't want to do.. I bet that sucked retapping in that tight spot. Or did worse, did you have to drop your transmission to do it?:suicide::suicide:

Thanks for the info guys. I will work on doing that. Dropping the mid pipe isn't a bad idea at all. More work, but if it prevents the worse case scenario then it's worth it.
