Electrical/Sensors > Electrical > Body Electrical > Antenna & Radio

or

Electrical > Electrical > Antenna

depending on the dealer's site.

thats the radio antenna, the sat nav has its own antenna mounted somewhere under the dash. here's a pic of it i found on ebay... would still like to know EXACTLY where it goes under the dash and a part number would be great.

That piece installs around the head unit. You can see it at the top of the cutout in this photo: http://image.automobilemag.com/f/rev...cement.JPG.jpg

I couldn't find that in any of the parts diagrams though. It might be considered part of the display unit.

The BRZ antenna contains the GPS antenna. It's in the roof, not in the dash. That's only on the FRS where the GPS system is optional. I'm sorry I don't know the specific part number.

Correct, the BRZ antenna base houses the GPS reciever. If you compare the BRZ antenna base to the FR-S you'll see that it is MUCH larger.

Actually, the BRZ antenna contains the satellite radio and radio antennas, not navigation. I mistook the request above and thought the OP was looking for the radio antenna. The navigation antenna mounts directly above the display unit in the dash. The link I posted above shows this.

The US is the only country to have satellite radio, hence why our BRZs get a unique exterior antenna base.

On a brz, can I disconnect the BRZ GPS antenna and still have the stock headunit be functional?

So if the GPS doesnt work, it won't let me do radio/bluetooth etc either? I would be fine with the GPS part not functional as long as everything else was still operational.
