Anyone else above 5000 miles too?

I just turned over 5000 miles on the way out to a customer site. I've used the car for my last two work trips, one from Milwaukee to Memphis, and another 500m round trip job here in Wisconsin.

I've spent a LOT of time in this car and I still LOVE getting into it every morning. Luckily I'll be parking it over the winter, so it will still only average 15K miles a year, but those will be hard months!

My only addition to over the last 2K since my previous update is that I've gotten more experience with the Sport mode TCS/VSC and I can say that once you learn where it's limits are you can have a little fun without the door getting slammed on you.

I usually don't travel this much for work, but were down one service engineer, so I'm filling in. Hopefully July is a bit more lean and I don't break 10K in 2 months. :bellyroll:

Oriental Life 06-25-2012 10:01 PM

600 and counting :-)

Laika 06-25-2012 10:04 PM

:confused0068: If my math is right...you've averaged 6.72mph since you picked up your BRZ. Including time spent parked...eating...sleeping..etc.

I'm still at a lowly ~1200

Dave-ROR 06-25-2012 11:48 PM

Only at 2420 or so here in just about a month.

Lytheum 06-25-2012 11:57 PM

i thought i was driving a lot! 600 in 7 days so far. its getting more and more tempting to wind this thing out to redline

Chauntalei 06-26-2012 12:18 AM

3 weeks and I'm at 1500ish. Was just out of town without the car for 4 days though, I'd be higher otherwise.

Time for oil change but they might not have parts yet, it's too new. LOL
Congrats and I can tell you really enjoying every mile...
This is the 2nd week for me and I am only on 700km

I only made it to 700 before I put my foot down ^_^

Superhatch 06-26-2012 12:59 AM

I did the oil change on my own at 3K. It was super easy. I'll have to check if there is any other checks at 7500.

Laika, that is a hilarious statistic! :P

ashtray 06-26-2012 01:34 AM

I'm not even at 500 miles yet (hopefully by the end of the week), and I've had it for almost 4 weeks. At this rate I won't see redline until August. :(

And my other car has been in the shop for the past 2 weeks! Imagine if I drive that once a week...

V1B 06-26-2012 01:39 AM

1400 here

86design 06-26-2012 01:51 AM

1,655 here bought the car almost 3 weeks ago

Enemies 06-26-2012 02:04 AM

I love the car and I love driving it, but I hope it's 6 months before I have 5000 miles on the car. :P

Opie 06-26-2012 10:34 AM

1,300...had mine a month! :)

DeepHunta 06-26-2012 10:41 AM

Holy crap! You guys drive! I am seriously trying to find the time to go to the mountains for some driving but, alas, there has been no time...maybe this weekend though when my schedule is freed up.

I am only at 500 miles since I picked it up on 6/6. I have almost redlined it though...got up to 7000 a few times on on-ramps :D...still waiting for that magical 1000 miles so I can go 7400

dwcnmv 06-26-2012 11:27 AM

I'm not at 5000 but I'm still putting the mileage on at 3200. Got mine May 18th.

DantKR 06-26-2012 11:29 AM

Closing in on 1200.

DEC1 06-26-2012 12:35 PM

2200 miles...redlining is FUN...
I do 700/week commuting...so most likely will pass you all eventually... :(
changed oil at dealer at 1000...yes they have filters and oil for BRZ...got it for free (~$90 otherwise)...will be doing my own in the future.

WRXGuy1 06-26-2012 08:22 PM

A little over 1,300 miles here in almost 4 weeks. Trying to keep the miles low!

I would love to keep the miles low on mine, but it's my new DD, so that isn't gonna happen unfortunately, haha.

It's my DD as well, but I'm trying to avoid the pointless drives I used to make with my car. I've been combining trips to the city instead of going there every other day for one thing or another.

Achpoques 06-27-2012 10:35 AM

2,700 miles. Just hit the 30 day mark.

Took a 500 mile there and back trip over the weekend to see some friends, and am always looking for a reason to drive. This has included some leisure drives.

Still love the car! :) Only wish someone wouldn't have hit my front end. :(

drifter 06-27-2012 01:37 PM

55 miles in 1 week. Working double shifts suck

Yeah, I know what that's like. Only working one job, but it's not uncommon for me to work past 2am, and I'm usually in between 6-9am.

I'm around 950 miles atm and should hit 1,000 by Friday, which marks 2 weeks of having it. Most of that time spent was getting the car back down to FL from NJ, however.

uspspro 06-27-2012 06:53 PM

800 in a month for me, and I am driving more than normal!

xwd 06-27-2012 07:36 PM

My daily commute is only 24 miles round trip and I live in town where everything is fairly close so it's tough to put the break-in miles on it...

I'm at 580 miles after about 2 weeks, that includes a 220 mile trip I took last Saturday just to put some more miles on it. I have another car I drive sometimes as well so my guess is I'll put less than 10K on it a year unless I take some long trips.

hav0c 06-27-2012 11:40 PM

827 miles in 7 days (almost there!)

R L Newb 06-28-2012 09:55 AM

This thread makes me feel better, I'm at 2k miles in almost 2 weeks. 100 miles a day will rack up miles on the odo quick :P

My job is 100m round trip, so I know the feeling. Add a couple of drive trips in the mix and that added about 1500m.

My wife and I agreed no mods until the warranty is done...not that all my driving has anything to do with that. :burnrubber:

R L Newb 06-28-2012 10:22 AM

Lol I'm in the same boat, no mods allowed, so glad the suspension is great out of the box.

rapt 06-28-2012 11:24 AM

From Canada, my wife and I took a road trip to Bangor Maine to give it a good break in, 2weeks old with 1000 miles now and a windshield chip along with my first ever speeding ticket

Make sure you lawyer-up for that ticket.

slizoth 06-28-2012 12:08 PM

I've got almost 700 in the two weeks I've had the car, it's virtually all in town driving or windy country roads with elevation changes that require constant shifting. Im eagerly awaiting 1000 so I can have fun with it guilt free.
