Bayson R Front Lip problems

I'm trying to install my front lip but the ends of it are overlapping the push tabs inside the front fenders. Everything underneath has lined up. Help?

I'm assuming that it is the sti style front lip, mine does the same but I just left it without using the push tabs. Seems to be holding up fine although I believe the push tabs are supposed to go through the holes on the lip there to hold it in place

Unfortunately, with any replica aero parts, you are going to run into fitment issues (however mild or major they may be). If you aren't satisfied with that part, you could always try exchanging for another and hope for better fitment.

Just to clarify -- I'm talking about the push tabs located directly in front of the wheels inside the fender. The push tab locations underneath the car ( near the skid plate ) line up perfectly. The fitment over all is great I just can't seem to figure out how the sides need to be connected without blocking those two push tabs on both sides.

Can you upload any pictures?

Will do ASAP. Might be tomorrow, though.

@mcbrawr It'll be easier to help you out. Thanks in advance.

I have this lip, there shouldn't be any overlap. The lowest plastic clip in the fender liner should line up with the hole in the lip. There should be a supplied clip that replaces the OEM one to accommodate the additional thickness of the lip.

This may sound like a dumb question but have you tried flipping the lip around? I had weird fitment issues until I realized that my lip was upside down.

Right, sorry for not clarifying but I figured you were talking about the ones at the front wheel wells at the end of the front bumpers.
I just kind of let mine hang there too although BaysonR does supply extra push tabs, like another commentor had said, which allows you to replace the push tab so it fits the lip and fender liner.

It intends for you to take that clip out, then use two screws to hold everything together. Did that on mine and it works fine.

As in remove the two push tabs located there normally? Please excuse my hesitation, I want to be sure before I drill into my car lol

Correct. They should have sent you two screws with the lip. If not, get some self taping screws from a parts store.

The two screws will replace the pop clip to hold the splash guard in place. You're really just screwing in to plastic no one will ever see, so don't worry about it. :)

I would get pictures for you but I don't have my car. I'll check to see if I have a picture on my phone or something but I doubt it.

Edit-
This is the only picture I really have. If you download it and zoom in you can kind of see the screws... They hold things in place fine without that clip.

They sent me several screws to drill into the bumper from underneath, I haven't counted exactly how many but I would assume it is an adequate amount to finish the job haha... I'll take those push tabs out today and drill it in. If you have pics I wouldn't be against seeing them. Thanks man!:thanks:

I updated my post, but this is the only one I have: http://i.imgur.com/QiJlAA1h.jpg

Doesn't really help I know. My car is in the shop so I can't get a better picture for you. But yes, the screws they include are enough for all under the lip plus the sides.

zc06_kisstherain 10-22-2015 05:34 PM

yeah it's replica. i have same lip. it's not perfect but this is good replica as i experienced other bad replica before. you dont use push clip on side. you screw in that side.

kbye 10-23-2015 12:24 PM

Ah, I remember now. On my lip, the bottom hole aligned with the plastic clip location. But the OEM clip was not long enough so I bought these instead and they fit in perfectly.

It was enough to hold up the lip. I didn't use a tapping screw for the top one, I left it alone because I didn't want extra holes in my fender liner.
