This is my parts list for my build. If any of you fellow 86 owners have any better part ideas I would love to hear your opinions. My parts list may change depending on what the community has to say about quality and reliability of the parts I havr all ready posted. My end goal is 9 seconds or under, but my real goal is to have the fastest 86 in the states with the fa20 engine still in it.

go_a_way1 10-02-2015 06:57 PM

Good luck ? I think your gona need like 8:1 and 30+ psi to do that?

#maverick# 10-02-2015 06:58 PM

Why not go turbo? Im going for 9s or 8s as well. Going to keep it a banger car for a while but eventually ill go full retard and throw in a turbo400 or built 4l80 and 4 link 9" rear end.

raven1231 10-02-2015 06:59 PM

I'd say 45psi but 30 might do it. I'd also run at least a 70mm turbo, and you might want to look into a new trans...

Fierbuz did 9.96 on 550 hp and time attack suspension with a sequential. Lower compression just compensates for bad fuel. If you got e85 or q16 you dont need to lower compression much.

go_a_way1 10-02-2015 07:00 PM

Yeah and maybe a whole new rear end?

Me and my buddies are going to make mine run 6's.

If you preload and slip the clutch you dont need a whole new rear end. If u dump and go youll break shit.

dallenj 10-02-2015 07:12 PM

I probably going to get a new trans and most likely a fbm rear end, but for now I just have spares lying around for when one gets destroyed so I can still drive the car. Anyone know a good aftermarket trans that fits the 86s. I saw a video of one but I cant remember what it was.

#maverick# 10-02-2015 07:27 PM

Get a dogbox with an ignition cut on your shift lever so you can shift at WOT without using the clutch

Where would I get one and how much are they

#maverick# 10-02-2015 07:58 PM

Company in australia makes them, called forged performance, they are 6k just for the gearset

#maverick# 10-02-2015 07:59 PM

Also, just curious any particular reasons for choosing GSC Valvetrain over Ferrea?

cdq85 10-02-2015 08:02 PM

So this is just a giant wish list? Not to be a **** but that's all I see.

#maverick# 10-02-2015 08:08 PM

Deep pockets is what you need OP, nitrous or supercharger is not the way to go if you want power on this platform.

This isnt a wish list it is an assortment of parts ill be getting over the course of the next few months that will be going in my car next year. Some parts I already have on my car and some I have ready to install.

I make pretty good power alredy with just a small shot of nitrous. And its not all about hp numbers it how your car delivers the hp. The reason why im going nitrous is that I haven't seen any one else do it.

Not really GSC actually answered some of my questions when I messaged the company and still haven't heard anything from ferrea. You could say its strictly customer service that made me choose them, but if you can convince me that the ferrea is better ill probably go with them. The springs are probably going to be one of the first parts I will get because they are relatively cheap compared to the other parts on my list.

#maverick# 10-02-2015 08:21 PM

Spray a bigger shot and have fun doing plugs every 20 passes...

Well then cheers to you my friend. That's one expensive ass build for this car. I'm guessing close to 30k by the time you're done. And that's assuming everything goes smooth.

The wish list thing in this build is the supercharger. Im not sure if im going to do that yet. The reason why I put together this list is so im not endlessly upgradeing parts. My final buil of this car should be about 10-15k

STV3 10-03-2015 10:48 AM

Wants to run 9's...... Doesn't know what a dog box is.....

My advice would be to do a lot more research before buying random parts and aiming to run 9's in the quarter

cdq85 10-03-2015 10:50 AM

are you going to be doing 100% labor yourself?

Ill do about 60% I have a buddy that does engine rebuilds that owes me a favor that will fo the rest.

dallenj 10-03-2015 11:31 AM

I know the stock trans can run 10s. I have looked at some after market trans incase mine gives out. I have looked at a sequential gear box that fits in this car. Im just unfermilar with the term dogbox

spitfire481 10-03-2015 12:08 PM

If you get more than one pass in the 10's out of the oem trans you're lucky. I lost 3rd and 4th running 11's around 135mph with bogging off the line. 3 oem transmissions in at this point.

Thanks for the info. I have seen a 10s pass with a stock trans, but was unfermilar with the reliability of it.

dallenj 10-03-2015 12:41 PM

Im considering getting a holinger sequential gearbox. I know the sg6 will fit but the torque ratting on that tran is a little low for what I want. The sg3 is what I want but minght not fit. Would like to here if anyone has info regarding this.

cdrazic93 10-03-2015 07:41 PM

Youre looking at 10-15 for the build, yet the Hollinger will cost you 20 for just the sequental. Learn more about the parts required to get into the 9's first, before compiling a wishlist with an expected bill.

I can almost assure you that bill will be 2x what you think it is.

swarb 10-03-2015 08:06 PM

1/8th mile?

#maverick# 10-03-2015 09:40 PM

You want to run 9s design a plate and massage the transmission tunnel to throw in a turbo400 with a trans brake and manual valve body

The holinger is dream but my part and labor list that I havr put together without the supercharger is aboit 12k. The trany I have will last until I get everything put on the car and probably after. Thanks for trying to help, but I have done alot more research then id like to admit. Im used to American cars. This is my first Japanese car with a stick.

Go look for FBM's drag build. Look at what it took them to do with what they had, and youre not going to get there with a supercharger.

No not necessarily a sequential.
