1320 Performance UEL Header?

Anyone running this or know anything about it? Haven't been able to find much info aside from what's on their website. I was going to go with Tomei, but just can't beat the price of this one.

raven1231 09-19-2015 05:57 PM

Looks like a quality piece, especially for the price

Teseo 09-19-2015 10:30 PM

Collector looks decent also

GsxrMe 09-20-2015 09:47 AM

Now that's a reasonably priced header!

Shady_Banda 09-20-2015 11:51 AM

2.5 inch? 3 inch?

ryoma 09-20-2015 03:39 PM

every time I see something so much cheaper than the competition (not including the cheap-o stuff), I start wondering why it's so cheap.

Rifle 09-20-2015 03:50 PM

I'm actually in a group-buy for this header right now. 1320perf. Makes some good products. All of ours are currently being built to order. All headers are *essentially* the same, and this one is a quality looking collector. Sometimes the name doesn't matter. Borla has been having some quality issues with cracked welds, etc. I will let you know once my group buy is complete and so get it installed what I think.

zdk554 09-28-2015 08:59 AM

Has anyone out this on their vehicle yet? If so what are the results and are you happy with the purchase?

DannyQ86 09-28-2015 10:07 AM

It's out of stock on the website, is there a link to the group buy @Rifle

Last I saw they were operating on one of the Facebook FT86 groups

weederr33 09-28-2015 10:21 AM

They have a picture of a GTR sitting outside their shop. Seems legit.

It's now closed, was via the Mid Atlantic 86 Club FB page

Header should be arriving this week (hopefully!), and I should have it installed by Sunday if everything goes accordingly.

Just for a list of what I have/what I'm doing:
Current:
Blitz Drop In
Invidia N1 Catback
Tuned@93Oct

Hopefully by Sunday put on:

1320Performance Catless UEL Header
Power Driven Overpipe
Berk Hi-Flow Catted Front Pipe

--------------

Current issues I've heard about the header - it's 5mm off from stock OP, causing small leak for some, but with thicker gaskets (grimspeed which I bought) there should be no exhaust leak/fixed.

I'm in the same group buy.

I contacted the company and some OP's such as the Tomei will not be compatible so be careful. I'm waiting it out and getting the 1320 Over Pipe coming out in a few weeks to make sure it's a perfect fit. They're giving $50 off for everyone who bought the header, so only $75 for an OP is pretty amazing deal.

But from what I've seen and read on here, it looks like this is a quality piece for the price. I wasn't going to put another grand into the car, but <$500 total for header and OP sounds like a deal to me. I will update as well once I got mine on. I'll be running the following setup:

Invidia N1
1320 Header (w/ Grimmspeed Gaskets) + 1320 OP
Grimmspeed Intake
ECUtek Tune

trigger happy 10-01-2015 09:50 PM

1320 makes some quality stuff for the money.

FRSBRZGT86FAN 10-02-2015 11:19 AM

This kills the CNT uel then just looking at the collectors, this is a way better bang for the buck, thing I'll pick this one up then if the reviews are good.

To bring this thread back up, getting my header installed tomorrow, along with a no name OP, Berk catted FP, and updated tune for 93. I'm going to try and make a stock N1 vs header back N1 exhaust video.

Why not contemplate on why the pricier stuff is so expensive? A lot of other parts aren't that damn expensive.

I think it's funny that people often write something off or are so skeptical because of the price. I mean I get it, but I don't think price always equals the quality of the part. No name companies have to make a name somehow.

Strife26 10-31-2015 12:01 AM

Anyone got this on yet? Tuned? Dynoed? I am thinking of grabbing one. I wanted to go turbo, but I may wait a while to do that so I am looking for a header.

Also, PLEASE post a sound clip vid if you have it on.

Thanks!

How did the install go with stock front pipe? I heard it had issues with stock over pipe but it looks like you took care of that by ordering their overpipe

No biggie, was just wondering I'll be ordering either CNT, OFH or 1320 in 5-6 months checking all the options....

Strife26 11-01-2015 12:59 PM

I'm doing the same as maca. Do I get impatient and order the cnt or gruppe or do I wait for the 1320

Without commenting on the quality of the 1320 header, there are plenty of reasons the expensive brands can be more expensive. Better materials, better craftsmanship, better quality control, more R&D or better testing methodology, better dyno numbers, better sound, community involvement, etc. -- ultimately, people have judged them worthy of their price, or they'd not be able to sell it.

I suppose, but I always think of Nike. Not made in the USA. I wouldn't call them quality but I haven't had a pair forever. I only ever got them for playing basketball for pt. A lot of times you are paying for the name and not much else. So to me writing someone off on price doesn't make sense. Guess I may find out with this header, whether they are solid or not.

Now all you have to hope for is that they don't fall on their faces. When the twins first came out, a company in Beltsville, Md. came out with a header back exhaust system and a cat back system and they had a group buy which I got in (even before I had the car) and waited 70 days for the cat-back system. Several people who placed orders never (that I know of) ever got their systems. One guy was in Australia. Company moved to Baltimore area and were completely non-responsive to inquiries for the people trying to get their product. Not sure if they are still in business or not.........

Strife26 11-05-2015 08:12 PM

I am trying to figure out which header to get. 1320, Gruppe, CNT, or OFH.

Gruppe is 2 3/8" and I was hoping for 2.5" because everything else is on my exhaust
CNT has a meh collector
1320 has a long wait time
OFH...Not sure. I think I like it.

Any suggestions? Any stats on these headers yet?

Rifle 11-09-2015 11:41 AM

I've had mine installed now for about 1500 miles. This is my second header. The first header wasn't decked correctly on the flange, so it didn't seat correctly and caused an exhaust leak. My vendor swapped me another one and I was good to go. Overall impressions, for $350, I believe it was truly worth it. I'm etuned with @moto-mike, stage 2, 93 Oct. it definitely "feels" faster. I have yet to dyno it, so no actual results. Maybe one of these days I'll swing up to Moto-east for a few pulls.

Other than that, I have it paired with a PLM overpipe, Berk Catted Front Pipe and an N1. And it's loud. Very, very loud. But I love it. :)

Scavanger 12-02-2015 02:20 PM

I just ordered mine today hopefully it doesn't take forever to get them.

Scavanger 12-14-2015 01:27 PM

So installed the header this weekend and I must say I am really happy with it welds were great and the sound is soooo much better than the EL I had on before. Power is relatively the same but I will see if I can get any more out of it with tuning.

Does yours have the weird & infamous rattlesnake washer sound?

not yet not sure where it would come from though

Yes, I bought a 1320 overpipe too ( 60mm version ) and I haven't gas leaks using stock frontpipe.
I replaced only engine to header gaskets and headers to overpipe gasket.

O2 sensor "L" extension works well, no one CEL from installation made 15 days ago and about 1000km ( 600km highways, suburban 340km , 60km urban ) always using 100RON premium unleaded fuel
and stock firmware ZA1JA02G ( not yet tuned )

Sure ? I ordered mine while "out of stock" and they have been delivered in 6 days, and I live in Italy!

Here you can find a couple of video, first is a cold start and second one an hill road test.
Keep in mind, I've changes ONLY headers and overpipe, while frontpipe-midpipe-muffler are stock ( and not TDR or STI version ), i'm only search for a bit more "Subaru rumble" sound
and torque gain in 3500-4500 for my daily car.

Anyone have the 1320 header/op with invidia fp and q300?

I want to make sure it all lines up correct and a sound review would be nice

Should line up fine as long as you install header>OP>FP>Catback in that order.

I never owned one, but in our local groups many people were buying them and then selling them very soon after. I think they fixed the flex pipe leaks but fit was never perfect from what I saw with common complaints (I live near the shop that produces them so many in the local area tried them out).

You also need their overpipe which dont make clear as it is a different length then stock
