BRZ Limted Door Locks
I noticed that factory config with the keyless entry allows the driver to open their door but does not unlock or allow the passenger to open theirs. Is there a setting to change this? Kind of annoying to have to either pull the key out and use the fob or manually do it as the impatient gf waits lol.

There is a dealer setting to change the key fob behavior so that a single press opens both doors. I am planning to try to have the dealer set this option with the hope that it also changes the behavior of the keyless entry. I tried to have the setting changed at purchase, but the dealer looked at me like I had three heads...even after showing him the printed page from the manual.

There's a small "button" on the door handle you can touch to unlock/lock the door. The touch panel on the inside of the handle only works for the first door to be touched (which is kinda silly, it should open both doors if you're close). If you touch the little button (it's a small raised line in the door handle) it will unlock the door.
edit: p.s. touch touch touch touch touch touch |

But in any case, thanks a whole mess of gratitude for this (I'm sure I could have found on my own by reading the manual, but hey, why do that if someone else will do it for me right? :D). |

Random question, but does the car prevent you from locking the keys inside the car if they are placed in the trunk?

Hmm good to hear. i'd hate to be locked out one day lol

The simple solution is to open the door for your gf. If you unlock the pass side first, the drivers side opens as well. ;)

I have similar question, sorry to hijack the thread, but since the original question is resolved.... I would like the car to autolock itself after it starts moving, and also open locks when I turn off the car. Is it possible?

Since I finally got around to doing this, I noticed that when I open the door and hold both the panic and lock buttons for 5 seconds, it'll continue to beep whether I'm still holding it or not after the 5 seconds. It's a long beep followed by a short one. It still changes the settings of the locks (unlock just driver or both), but I was wondering if this is normal. ;) |
Is there no door unlock button on the limited's key fob? I know on the premium just like most cars with keyless entry the default is one press for drivers door only, 2 presses for all doors so I can just tap unlock twice to unlock for the passenger, I'm not familiar with the buttons on the limited's fob though.

I was talking about using the keyless entry on the door handle. |

thanks! |
Don't have the manual in front of me but I think you just hold the unlock button down on the keyfob with the drivers
door open til it chirps. |
This has never been a problem for me since my passenger is usually my wife and I open her door anyways.

My bad, I thought you meant it was flashing while the car was running.
|
So what happens if you lock the door and your passenger isn't aware of the feature and touches the the door handle once this setting is on? Will the car unlock unbeknownst to you?
