114.3 stock rear rotors?

Do they make 114.3 rotors that'll fit on our rear rotors?

Basically I'm looking to do the hub conversion and cannot find a solution...

They make rotors that are 114.3 obviously but apparently they require new brakes and that's not in the cards right now ...

Basically I'm looking for SAME SPEC Rotors as our rear but are 5x114.3 instead of the stock 5x100.

Any advice? :)

It is not simply just swapping rotors, you need to swap HUBS in addition. You can buy conversion hubs and drill new holes in the rotors. The other solution is getting sti parts or z32 parts. If you can't afford new brakes, you can't afford the hub conversion. At that point just get conversion spacers.

I can afford it ... just don't know enough about brakes to pick the right ones. I'm not there in my build yet :(

I bought the hub conversion rears ... Any way i can avoid re-drilling? They don't make a 5x100 rotor for our cars that also have holes for 5x114.3?? Hard to believe We can't get BOTH! :)

Bought 15mm project kics conversion for the front ...

I remember reading about a rotor that was the same size in 114, you just have to search for it(was it dba rotors?), many companies will find or drill you a set for your application. Or measure/find the specs of the stock size and call someone or open up a application list with specs from a rotor company.

Z32 (aka 300zx) rears are the same size discs in 5x114.3

Its been discussed in the z32 caliper swap thread. Search something like "my $600 bbk"

I saw that the z31 87-89 says it's 290x18mm

Which is the same thing as the stock FRS rear rotors ...

Does this mean it works?

I'll see if i can locate the z32 caliper swap thread.

Found this

http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/nis...r-frs-brz.html

But this is a write up for the FRONT.

Our Front rotors are different than our rears, so this won't work right?

Thanks,

Thanks,

The fronts are different, but the rears are the same. Its discussed when talking about brake bias to ensure it remained OK compared to stock.

Rotors:

Rotor Specs: Legacy GT front rotors are 316mm in diameter by 30mm in width. Stock BRZ/FRS rotors are 294mm in diameter and 24mm in width. OEM Legacy GT rotors are 22 lbs while BRZ rotors are 17 lbs.

he used legacy rotors in this and they are fronts only.

what do i look for when comparing stock rotors to ensure the brakes will fit?

stock oem rear frs rotors:

I've found that 87-89 z31 (300zx) rotors are:
5x114.3
290x18mm

What else do I need to make sure works for the rotors?

Remember I'm going to be using the Subaru rear hubs.

Wait...This confused me...

You're saying I can use the z32 rotor on the REAR and retain the same STOCK frs brakes?

Just checked with a local auto parts store...the z31 rotor and z32 rotors will not fit the hub. They are too big

Back to Square one.

What size is the hub on the z32?

I THINK ~68mm

I'm about to brake down and buy the BBK for 08+ sti but.... you think that'll work on rears?

I'm afraid that will mess with parking brake no?

This "Brake" area is not what I know....Google hasn't been kind...lol

Megan says:

1/ Front brake and rotor,
Option1: Upgrade to aftermarket brake kits including calipers and 5x114.3 rotors.
Option2: upgrade to 08-13 stock STI Brembo brake kit (5x114.3 stock rotors), it is direct bolt on
Option3: upgrade to 2010-14 Legacy 2.5GT oem brake kit, re-drill to 5x114.3 on rotors

2/ Rear brake and rotor,
Option1, you can re-drill the original rotor to 5x114.3 and you can bolt them on.

Nothing about just going rear BBK 08+sti on rears...
I dont see why not because:
Hub=subaru 08+ sti
Rotors+calipers= 08+sti

My guess is...because parking brake issues???

What are you going ti run in the front for brakes?

Honestly...I havn't the slightest clue ...

I don't want to drop 3k on just brakes ...that's my turbo build money! :)

Any suggestions? I might just do the rears ... and run with a small project kics spacer in the front.

The issues is making sure brake bias stays the same as stock or the electronics will think things arent working right. I think the best bet is to contact brake companies with the specs you need and see if anything matches.
