so tempting..
|
Signed up, now I've just got to find some race gas. Maybe I'll try Sunoco this year as it's a fair bit cheaper than VP.
|
Does insurance cover these sort of events?
If not, can one buy insurance specific to a track day? |

And for anyone interested, Wilcox & Fliegel sells sunoco race fuels at around 1/2 the cost of VP. I just bought 5 gallons of 104 octane oxygenated and 5 gallons of 98 ethanol free for a total of $120. |
yeah, just checked with my agent. A firm no on track day or anything track related.
I'd definitely pick up coverage when I do enter these events this year. Having tracked on motorcycles at PIR, Ridge and ORP its cheap in the long run and peace of mind. |

don't tell them anything. When an incident occurs at the track, have it towed out side of the track. I've heard of a few people doing this, not sure what the whole process/scamming is though. |

But I know I'll go through it (and more) over the course of the summer, just not sure when exactly yet. The 98 is super stable so I don't really have to worry about it going bad on me, the 104 on the other hand (once opened) has about a 1.5 month shelf life. However, you might not want to run the 104, it'll make the car run up to 8% leaner without the computer knowing. |

Anyways, just a question. I got my answers. We live the land of "i'll sue your ass, cause you have an ass, not cause you are an ass" i'd rather cover my ass. edit: by the way, i think you and I have a common friend in jnicola.. |

From what I've seen however, the ECU is pretty good overall at adjusting itself to account for fuel quality. |
I wish I could go but until all these damn medical bills are paid off or I settle, whichever comes first, I don't have the money.

I think a half-can will get about 98 on a twin's full tank of 92 but don't recall exactly. Shelf life unopened of 18 months according to the manufacturer. It took about 3-4 days to arrive then I filled a couple of days early and drove around to let the ECU adapt. Butt dyno said buy it again. Ten Miatas and counting so far, must be some kind of club event tie-in. Just hope they aren't all Spec cars or they'll be buzzing all around annoying everyone with their speed. Long range weather is looking fairly good, precip chance starting at 20% and decreasing all day, temps low 50's to mid-60's. I'm bringing a canopy just in case. |

Budget only allows for one track day that weekend, so I'll be at ORP for the TC event on Sunday. May drop by on Saturday and see how you're doing. Have fun. Robert, I'll bring the Spyder if I do. |

It was so much fun trying to match pace with you that day. You had me regretting replacing the RE-11A's with mushy PSS's. Yeah, bring your Spyder out, my favorite MR2, and hang with us. Have fun at TC, too, and let us know how it went. |
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the track on Saturday.. Hoping the weather forecast is accurate...

Josh, nice videos!
It was an epiphany driving your worked and sorted car. Corner exit grunt reminded me of my Supra TT but with better steering and balance. Once I recalibrated reflexes and got comfortable, your car felt as controllable as my stock FR-S meaning confidence inspiring. Thanks for letting me ride share, it was a great experience. Running Novice was shooting fish in a barrel although there were several hot shoes also ride sharing like the guy in the SVT Cobra Mustang. On my last full 20 minute stint, starting last like the other stints, I lapped the field. Great seeing Doug, Sam, Jon and Brandon out there having fun and supporting the cause. Hope to see all of you at a track somewhere again soon. |

Good to see you guys Saturday. Wished I could have run with you, but the budget only allowed 1 track day this weekend and as you know I'm partial to ORP. It was a good day on Sunday. I found some people to run with in nearly every session. Always great when you find some folks that are closely matched. I did manage to loop my car for the first time. Trying hard to catch a friend who drives a Lotus 7 replica. I got a bit to aggressive and put a wheel on a curb. I guess I unloaded the left rear when I went over it and did a 180, ended up in the dirt. The car is fine but covered in dust inside and out. I've got quite a project ahead of me to get it clean again. Hope to see all of you out there again soon.
