So what mileage are you getting?

Im getting 39.8 mpgs to and from work, 2 miles of city 25 miles of highway,
Got 47 mpgs avg at 65 over a 90 mile span many UPS and downs on the freeway.

Boosted2.0 06-09-2012 01:59 AM

Nowhere near that good. just under 29 Hwy, about 25 around town.

rikdrt1 06-09-2012 02:13 AM

same here -- if I take it easy i can get 39-41MPG ! That is so insanely good, i cant even beleive it . on my last tank with alot of combined driving i got about 30.. thats still goooood !

I clock in at around 41 highway cruising at 65ish, but then the devil on my shoulder starts whispering to me... "but rob, you bought a sports car not a prius. Isn't your foot getting tired? Don't you want to push it all the way to the floor?"

dietz 06-09-2012 05:06 AM

Don't know mine yet since I just got it today, but I did notice that apparently 127 MPG = infinity. Or at least it tops out at that going down a mountain regardless of rpms during engine breaking.

finch1750 06-09-2012 12:51 PM

I've gotten between 29 and 32 on my first 3 fill ups. about even split city/freeway basically as a lot of my freeway time is bumper to bumper. Combine that with going up and down hills the whole way and my foot isn't exactly light either. Lol

rikdrt1 06-09-2012 01:11 PM

Its nice to know you can cruise this like a honda civic , but when you're boored you can punch it and hear the 'music' of the boxer engine...

i love this car.

i only wish they would of put about 6-8" more so that the rear passengers (sometimes) can move their foot around.

but i dont know, Im sure the engineers at Toyota put that into consideration somewhere... b

zoomzoomers 09-21-2012 07:25 PM

Ok, I'm a bit puzzled/concerned. My commute is anywhere between 12 - 15 miles each way and it's pretty much 95% city (i.e. stop n go). Currently the only thing I have installed on my car is the Airaid intake and I'm averaging 16 - 17 miles per gallon. Now I know city driving drinks gas, but is it supposed to be this bad??? I'm puzzled. Can anyone offer some suggestions?

BTW, I'm at 1,400 miles on the odo and just checked the dip stick and the oil level is good and the color looks like new. Planning on changing out the oil & filter at about 2k with Royal Purple 0w20 and install the Perrin CBE. Still I don't think I should be seeing such low numbers in milage. Anyone else seeing anything similar? :thanks:

CharlieChaos 09-21-2012 07:28 PM

Im getting about 55-60 MPG total on the Prius Plug In they gave me while my FR-S is sitting waiting for parts :fighting0040:

On the bright side, less $ for gas = more mod money when you get yours back.

I can get 40mpg from mine on the daily commute, 25-ish on the weekend, and an average of around 33.

Khalis 09-21-2012 07:51 PM

I'm averaging about 26-27 mpg with about 60% highway 40% city. I guess it's because there's always traffic when I'm driving city so sitting in idle brings it down fast.

SkitterSkotter 09-21-2012 08:13 PM

I'm averaging 37mpg on my current tank and for the life of the car I'm getting a 35.5mpg average. Not bad when it's rated at 25/30 for the manual.

27.9 6k miles

Sigh-on-Rice 09-21-2012 08:43 PM

My 3000 miles average is 30 mpg.

DTM 09-21-2012 09:07 PM

I'm getting 29.8mpg over the first 370 miles. I was surprised it would be that high to start. My last few new cars usually got significantly worse mpg than EPA to start then gradually improved.

Shagaliscious 09-21-2012 09:12 PM

I'm getting just under 30mpg, slightly over 3k miles. I'm not trying to get good gas mileage either.

636 09-21-2012 09:54 PM

Averaging 34 on this current tank. I'm taking it gently, somewhat. Raced a few times. :P

Check my sig for my overall average.

Tim_Asphalt_FRS 09-21-2012 09:58 PM

I drive about 90% city avg. about 23-24 mpg. I'm going to SEMA next month so I'll know how it does on the highway after that. Hoping for something above 35.

Vladror 09-22-2012 02:13 AM

23.5 mpg on my last 1000 miles, which combines city driving with lots of hills and regular redlining

BuBlake 09-22-2012 02:45 AM

29.5 and that's with a very heavy foot. Traffic is sparse where I normally drive, in town with a speed limit of 30-50mph. If I drive conservatively, it will do around 32-34, which isn't worth it to me.

This car destroys my old '07 350z when it comes to milage. The z was getting 19 avg. with the same driving style and area. Even with only a 19/26 epa estimate, the Z seemed overrated. This car seems underrated at 25/30.

If you arent familiar, this video will show you how to set the gear indicator light and shift light, the gear indicator light will also display upshift arrows at the time the computer determines would be best for mpg.

Hopefully this helps with your fuel economy man.

How are you guys calculating your fuel efficiency? via the computers display or are you tracking it by distance travelled at fill-up x gallons filled?

whateatsrabbits 09-22-2012 03:20 AM

I was getting great mileage during beak in, like 30-35 mpgs. Now that break in is over, I have been beating her up a bit, I'm down to 25mpg. FIYOLO

FRSjeff 09-22-2012 03:50 AM

My mpg average is being reported at 21.1
I have not reset it, so this is the overall average since I bought the car. I have over 2100 miles. I'm somewhat surprised how low mine is compared to others in this thread. I do drive more city (about 75%). And I do live in Los Angeles. And the most important factor is I drive this car like the sports car it is. I did NOT buy this car because it reports good mpg. Therefore, I'm not complaining but am a little surprised at how my mpg compares to you guys.

artizhay 09-22-2012 04:16 AM

28.4 so far. My car keeps somehow hitting 100+ MPH. I need to give it a stern talking to.

Ummm, I think you're doin' it wrong. Nah, just kidding. If you got that bad of mileage you must be driving the car right!!!

2 days on the track. Pretty much flat out. I think it is hard to do less than 10 mgp on a tank, but I will try harder next time :-)

In my opinion, there must be something wrong.:eyebulge:
I am new also with 925miles, and have been trying to keep under 4k as most new owners. I run hard to the 4k... not much stop and go in city but take little runs. Heck half the time recently I will leave in 3rd and just pound turns to 5k and then leave in 3rd, around 3k for next curve. My point is that even thou I am not redlining only hitting 6k now and then, I am never really just cruising, (except when wife in car), hammering it up to 4k and off back up to 4k as soon as can. 25mpg average 2 tanks. I know I am driving it hard with a lead foot, I just can not see your driving being much harder than mine unless your 7k redlining every time. I would go dealer service and get them to check the injectors or something:(
Do you carry buncha heavy babes in car all time to add weight?
Let us know what happens.

DGM BRZ 09-22-2012 04:12 PM

My average in a BRZ is only 22.5.

Yruyur 09-22-2012 04:31 PM

Averaging 23.9 on the dash. Pretty much drive it hard. 6k shifts a few redlines a day and of course trying to chirp the tires half the time. Have the Visconti 1.05a tune and trd drop in air filter.

Just managed 38.56mpg at 65mph on a bit of a road trip. I am VERY impressed considering this is still a sports car.

FrX 09-25-2012 01:15 AM

My commute is about 2/3 city, 1/3 highway at the moment. Averaging about 25.5 mpg. I'm a pretty aggressive driver.

grodenglaive 09-25-2012 07:04 AM

averaging 28mpg over 2400 km

Sigh-on-Rice 09-25-2012 05:38 PM

The average for my DD in busy commuting times is 30 mpg.
The other day, I drove 30 miles (15 miles one way. 1/2 city and 1/2 highway) at night when there is no traffic and averaged 43 mpg.
That's impressive.
