Toyota GT86 2013. Swedish Time attack 2015

Thought maybe someone is a little interested in what happens beyond the sea line.
In any case, I have signed up to run TimeattackNU in the club series, the so-called entry-level.
The car in question was purchased new at Toyota, the spring of 2014.

But now to the car, I had time to run 7 track days 2014

How nice was the rims before the first track days, but I can say that they were quickly changed when I did not have any clear coat on them :(

Then I took the opportunity to also instalera my Innovate MTX-d oil pressure and temperature gauges, got to do a little custom solutions before I got the ones I wanted, but they each well in the end.

After I took a look at how HKS and the famous self-made mode of the air snorkel could perhaps be done better and certainly they went.
soon discovered that the original channels in crash beam and styrofoam was to just get up air to snorkel and an idea is born to make a little better, so to get proof that they work, I cut very thin fringe of paper and taped over original channels before and after, then I blew air in the front and there was a greater flow :)
So I made this in any case.
on the edge as the taped arrow points, hits the air stream impact member originals, to send air up to snorkel.

http://rejsa.nu/im/user/17913/2014-1...1_img_0273.jpg
Then cut and glued bits I got over from polystyrene, to obtain a smoother passage.

http://rejsa.nu/im/user/17913/2014-1...1_img_0274.jpg
http://rejsa.nu/im/user/17913/2014-1...1_img_0275.jpg

http://rejsa.nu/im/user/17913/2014-1...1_img_0279.jpg

Then I started the production of an aluminum plate bent into different sections to control the air and get some more air into the air filter.
http://rejsa.nu/im/user/17913/2014-1...5_img_0280.jpg
http://rejsa.nu/im/user/17913/2014-1...5_img_0281.jpg

http://rejsa.nu/im/user/17913/2014-1...5_img_0284.jpg

Then did a version 2.0 of the plate, which was not as badly damaged and finer bent and even a bit longer, modded although the snorkel to fit into the new.

One can see that the lower part of the guide plates fall a little further down than the original beam of air.
http://rejsa.nu/im/user/17913/2014-1...6_img_0294.jpg

Also began on a version 2.0 on the catch cans to the crankcase and heads.

On the local race track, this track is under construction on an old disused air base. In 2015 it will receive run-off zones in sand and curbs. But the best part is that I have only 5km from the house to this frack :)
The pictures up top is taken from this on going frack build.

On a track called middle Sweden, driving at night quite an experience.

Finally finished with brake cooling in the front, have not taken a long time to do, but have done very little on those, but this weekend I added a few minutes on the parts for it.

Put up some pictures on the first catch tank I did for the crankcase and heads, in case they are more BRZ / GT86 riders here who are considering similar, but now they're picked off like I said and put on the shelf, and model 2 of them will be completed in end of the week :)

How often do you see GT86's in Sweden?

Does Subaru sell the BRZ there?

Not so very often, actually, they have not sold so well here.
Most people probably think that they are too little power and can not see the funny car it actually is.
Subaru BRZ is also sold in Sweden and is a bit more expensive as new, which is strange because the Toyota GT86 and BRZ has the exact same equipment, which is all that is available, the only thing that is extraordinary is red interior and navigation

Fricke 01-30-2015 06:04 PM

Got The fingers out of my ass and removed the gearbox this week.
The thing that added larger noticed, was that the exhaust system looked to have gone very hot and there was not a shred of silencing left?
And this after 7 track runs, kann proceed to judgment was packed with stainless steel wool.

I have changed the springs back to 10 kg, so now they are 10kgF/10kgB but have strong concerns to also buy a 8 kg springs, so you can try them out.

Have goten some tires also this week, Kumho KU36 and the thing who were so nice with them, is that they are only inside/out side marking, you get out a lot more track time of them that way, then I may switch the tiers on a race weekend: racesmile

what we in Sweden have the advantage / disadvantage of, is that we have winter for like 6 months of the year, so then there is time to build the cars.

winter has just ended here, so tracks has just opened and I have posted things I already done now in the thread, so on Sunday I have thought to go out to the local course and try out everything :bonk:

sometimes it can have its advantages to be involved and help the construction of a race track :burnrubber:one can for example go there and train though it is not open to the general public :happyanim:

Sorry for late reply.
But first Swedish time attack race at kinnekulle ring are completed :party0030:
Took a 3rd place in my class (club)
But the car was way too stiff in the back, really nervous in high speed breaking and drift in the corners if I pushed it as much as last year, so had too back off a little, but for the race at mantorp park 2-3 July I will switch too 8kg springs in the back.

Bad on the update her :(
But 2 weekends ago, it was race 2 in the Swedish time attack series on the well known track for its long straights Mantorp park.
This is also one of the tracks where's Gatebil takes place.
Know from the start that the little Toyota would have to struggle, too keep up whit the more powerful cars, and the air temperatures this weekend was crazy hot +33c.
But after Q1 I was in the top 5 and after Q2 I was on 4th place whit 0,2 seconds to 3rd place and 0,4 seconds to second place.
But in the finale i lost time, so did the rest of cars, but I only managed to get a 4th place, so no podium this time
But I am really happy anyway, because this is second year track driving, and first year competing :happyanim: and first time I ever set my foot on this tracks were racing
And lost to a BMW M3 3.2 (321hp) and a BMW 335 e92 ( maybe 400hp?) and a gutted Civic type r ep3 whit jdm gearbox and diff (running 248hp) so really happy.
The 2 August it's time attack festival on Mantorp park again, has nothing to do whit the competition for me, but you don't say know too track time and ther will be many media tens ther.
But it will be really fun anyway, do the unlimited class has its second race this weekend, due to that too many teams didn't make it to first race, because parts didn't arrive in time.
So really pept to se all the monsters
Like 3 Porsche RSR, Nissan R35 GTR Nismo GT3 running 900-1000hp on 1280kg
And many many more crazy builds
+ the NETA series will also compete, so it's Sweden against hole Europe :w00t:
