More HP?
What can i do to make my frs faster? It only pulls 200 hp ! Cold air intake or a chip? The frs is a drift machine but i think it needs more hp!
Thanks for the help |

These stick on vents are the best bang for the buck. DIY is simple and straightforward. Peel the tape back and slap it on under the 86 piston. You get about +100hp PER addition, this means you can get +100 hp to your rear right wheel and another +100hp to your rear left wheel if you decide to put one on each end. Be careful if you only put one on. That side will be pushing twice as much power as the other wheel. On a more serious note, if you bought this car for HP, I think you got the wrong car. There are definitely many more cars that are better for the $ if you care for HP+Drifting. |

There is this new thing out now, It adds 5 hp without even touching your engine!
If you decide to try this, plea let us know if this is a hoax or not! Ty. http://www.andysowards.com/blog/asse...5hp.jpg?b91b38 |
For ultimate weight reduction, remove yourself from the vehicle for best results.

Are you running on race gas? Anything less than 110 octane and the engine limits itself to 200hp for reliability and safety reasons. I suggest buying some 114, after you burn a couple tanks of that the ecu should realize that it's race fuel and it will unlock the secret beast mode level fuel/timing maps. That'll give you about 300hp and push the torque through the roof. After using race gas for 1337 miles do the pedal dance and then start filling up with nitromethane whenever the low fuel light comes on. But don't fill it above a quarter tank or you'll be adding to much weight. Once you've achieved a minimum ratio of 88% nitromethane and 12% race gas you should see the power jump to almost 600 horses (although the technical measurements were given in MLPP or "my little ponies power", 600hp is the approximate conversion). If you are still not happy with that you'll need to add a straight through exhaust system for +60hp and a cold air intake for +90hp.

Dude! You're in luck!!! I just spotted this at the 7-11 where I fill up:
http://d1lwft0f0qzya1.cloudfront.net...Fnosbottle.jpg So who needs to install an expensive NOS system? Apparently you can just put this in your tank when you fill up, and get the same effect! Instant horsepower!!! Give it a shot and let us know how it works out! |

I couldn't resist. |
My friend JUST picked up a '14 Lexus IS350 F Sport. To be honest....Im not impressed. Its no where near as fun to drive as an 86, its slower than my car, the interior is VERY nice, not SUPER nice. She got the red leather...ugh. Transmission is even more lazy in normal driving mode, and sport isnt as crisp as mine. For $46K....I dunno.

Although on a serious note, the twins have enough power that you can make it do just about whatever you want (within the realm of street driving). If you have the skills to make use of all that the car has and it's still not enough power or whatever for you than you wouldn't be asking us this question. You would know exactly what you want it to be able to do and what kind of specs are required to achieve those goals. And If you were that kind of person you would be doing a lot more research and reading about what others have done. Then you might post a thread with some very specific technical questions.
At this point I suggest reading basic engine "how does it work" stuff then start reading more in depth things about how specific systems in/on the engine work. There's a hell of a lot that goes on in engines and especially newer/more sophisticated ones. I know just enough to realize that I know very little about engines and I've rebuilt, replaced and worked on them for a living. |
Secret beast mode! Yeah!!!

Sweating over what armrest to get is where the real fun is. Proper arm position to manipulate the engine/transmission interface lever in a dynamic manner while driving the platform is far more critical than HP. I think there is a video series called "The Art of the Knob" that explains all.
