Gas mileage for first tank
I filled up the gas tank for the first time. I had driven 349 miles and it held 11.2 gallons. It works out to be 31.1 mpgs. This was done while mainly commuting back and forth to work.
I would expect it to easily get 35 mpgs on a extended freeway drive after the engine loosens up some. |
I on the other hand am averaging 25 mpg... but I'm not doing anything but backroad runs under 4k rpm... (Shift light at 3800 ftw)
|
32.1 on my first tank. 364 miles, about equal mixture of spirited New England back roads, city and some short 60 mph cruises. I've got a feeling that once I'm banging into the higher revs where the VVT lives, my mileage will plummet.
Your results may vary :bellyroll: |
6MT or AT, OP?
|
I'm only at 65 miles and the computer that calculates the mileage in the car is steadily climbing. It reads 21.1mpg now. I'll report back once I go through the entire tank.

MT or AT? Although those numbers suggest auto.

Yes, whenever you quote mileage, the result is way more useful if we know if the car is MT or AT!
|
I haven't been that nice to it. Had a quarter tank they filled it after we put 8 miles on it durring the test drive. The car is over 250miles now. Average 23 need to fill up tomorrow. I'm trying to have a little fun. And this is a automatic. Been doing lots of nannies off m shifting in sport mode.
|
In our auto we got just a bit over 30MPG twisty roads and such.
|
33.6 mpg with MT. my first manual car, so i was worried about messing up shifting and getting subpar fuel economy, but the results are pretty nice! mostly highway miles with some mountainous terrain and twisties.

i've had the car for almost 4 days and I'm at 29 mpg mostly freeway little streets...its almost time to fill up but my miles say 192..
my car is a MT BRZ..not sure if the FRS gets better MPG then the BRZ? cause you guys are reporting some good numbers... |
at 1312 miles, I'm averaging 32.04MPG Automatic. Here for more details.
|
Today , i reset the computer and headed on the fWY for 100 miles --- roundtrip. When i got back home... the computer said 43.1MPG.....
yes, 43+ at an old man pace of 65mph, and very easy on the Automatic/RPM's...... Holy crap ! When i was driving around town -- my first 80 miles, it was averaging about 29 also, but i was taking off and hitting the rpms' a bit more in town.. just cant resist.. but never over 4000RpM.... |
I'm driving a manual, and I got 30mpg fof the first tank. 60% freeway, 30% city, and 10% back road. Always shift under 4k.
|
31.8mpg first tank. 75% hwy/25% city with an AT.
|
30ish~ mixed driving. MT
|
Second tank, got 30.9 similar mixed driving to first tank.
|
Finally finished my first tank and the trip computer showed 26.0 mpg and the math worked out to be 26.17 (283 miles, 10.811 gallons). Mine is a manual and it's been mostly mixed driving. I've gotten up to 4k RPM's a few times but not over, well maybe 4100-4200, but not 6-7k.
Looking forward to getting to 1,000 miles to let this bad boy sing! Ruskymx |
I'm in Philly, constant stop and go city driving, a lot of idling waiting for cabs and such... 21 mpg first tank. MT, shifting around 37-3800, etc
But, OH MY GOD I CAN'T WAIT TO HIT 1K! I want to get out on I95 and stomp on it so bad every time I get in!!!! |
23ish for mine. DC-area typical stop and go. Only went over 55 once, on I95N.
|
Got through my first tank yesterday. Went through 11.49 gallons in 285 miles. So roughly 24.8mpg. This was about 1/3 city, 2/3 highway.
|
Fifth Fillup: 1653.4 Miles Driven 31.92MPG
Details here. I'm discovering that my commuting miles (total of about 80 miles a day) include more highway speeds (>45MPH) than I thought now that I'm paying closer attention. Still a lot of stop and go in those number though. |
last i checked it said 16mpg on M/T. city driving is no fun.
|
im also in philly! average about 33mpg mostly highway from work, to jersey and city. reppin 215 86's!
|
Haha
Try converting to e85. My rig has a turbo and e85 for fuel. Mileage in town is in the 10-11mpg range. Highway maybe 19mpg. This thing screams like a banshee. 420hp to the wheel. |
