I'm not sure. The hemi's are pretty wide, and tall... not to mention iron blocks.

The fa20DIT was always the long term plan for subaru. Toyota made them take the turbo off it. |
I guess its all been thought of eh? Looks like im a lil late to the party. Thank god for forums

I hunted around a little, I used the 6.1L Hemi for my search, since the 6.4L isn't bigger dimensionally (the Hellcat is proably a smidge taller, but the SRT's have a "high rise intake" to begin with, so it may break even). All I found was 42"L x 42"W x 48"H and a weight of 149lbs. That 4' height is a killer in such a low car, but that is with the stock oil pan and stock intake manifold (a dry sump oil system and different intake manifold would make it shorter). Also the 42"L x 42"W is without any accessories besides the water pump (integrated into timing cover).
https://www.modernmuscleperformance....i-crate-engine IDK how I know... :burnrubber: Also... for a N/A engine (10.1:1 CR) that isn't "Built for boost"... on 6psi it went from 375whp (with intake, catback and tune) to 527whp (S/C, same catback, base tune). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...CIMG0984_1.jpg |
Ohc is probably going to suck for packaging and weight distribution. Those ls motors are the most common swap in everything for a reason
|
Hemi = OHV, as is the LS. The LS heads are narrower than the "Hemi heads" (also... not true Hemi's btw). Those Ford Modular V8's are quite wide as well with their DOHC.

Has anyone stuck a Mazda rotary in an FR-S / BRZ?

With the right amount of funds it would be possible. Look at the guys that crammed the Viper V10 into an S2000.

For reals though if I would ever swap my car, which I won't ever ever do, it would be for a LSx. MURICA! |
