I'm new to turbo kits, and need help deciding what else to get in addition to a kit.
Hey everyone, I'm new here and will be purchasing an frs in the next month or so. I have been looking into getting the Greddy turbo kit, but I would like to know what else, other than the kit, I should purchase so that I can properly get the most out of the kit. What I mean is, what other than the kit should I be purchasing to get this car to about 300whp?

lol^ specifically look in the stickies. There's a thread about pricing out kits and components.

^shhhhhh don't give away all the secrets now.....

In the order;
Kit Tune Oil cooler Injectors+pump Clutch Over pipe Mid pipe Exhaust Motor mounts Flex fuel kit Coil overs Rims+tires Built motor M85 rear end V160swap Unicorn semen |
FA20Club has some good turbo kit dynos if you'd search for them you'd find some...is that better @ftc~brz? Lol

Although I guess that unicorn semen could be traded for some of those items. |

**But really start reading through that link I posted. Start with the stickies and work your way down. Read build threads of peoples stuff you like. And know all the stuff you need BEFORE you start tearing up the car for the love of god. i spent 6 months doing daily solid research before even buying parts and I made several expensive changes. You can't just slap a turbo kit in and go and there are too many of us assh0les around here to learn from. Don't ask what you should do or need to get, do the leg work and know yourself. much luck to you |
Thanks guys, I'll give those threads a look, and figure out exactly how I want to build everything.

i'm making about 270 whp on 91 right now with the greddy kit, but I just ordered the flex fuel kit so it should be at least 300 when I get on e85, you can check out my build thread for supporting mods.

Since when can newbies write new thread topics? Didn't you used to at least have 10 posts before you could start your own topics so we didn't wind up with so many of these "Hey guys, what's a good turbo?" threads... Not jaded at all.

Awesome to the OP. There's a pretty large difference in the kits depending on how you set it up (turbo size, bov, waste gate, etc). If the OP has any questions hit me up or LJ @FullBlown. Also, if you have any questions about the Greddy kit I am pretty knowledgeable of that kit too (especially after talking with Andrew at Greddy USA). Enjoy! :) |
