First to reach 1,000 miles?

Let's have a little contest to see who gets their car out of the break in period first. Some rules: Post a picture of the odometer. No road trips...the manual says not to drive at the same speed for an extendid period of time, so if you put a couple hundred on the interstate, forget it, that defeats the point. Also, 2 categories, one for first 86ers, one for us regular folk WHO STILL HAVENT EVEN SEEN THE FREAKING THING YET!!!! (OK, maybe I'm the only one who hasn't even seen it yet, but you get the point.)

I think there's a BRZer with 1,800 already.

I just got the car today and should be at 1,000 by Sunday :)

Memphis 05-30-2012 12:59 AM

Dadhawk has a 1000 on his already.

eriktherod 05-30-2012 04:21 AM

The interstate -could- work, you would just have to drive a little more... 'erratic'. Getting it up to 4k, engine braking down to 2.5-3k and perhaps back to 4k again soon, repeat.

Moto-P 05-30-2012 06:54 AM

I have 1744 miles on my FRS as of today :D

Genomaxter 05-30-2012 07:45 AM

I am a non-86er. I have gone 520 miles in my firestorm FRS since I got it Friday afternoon. And I never use cruise control. I just dont like it.

miniphytou 05-30-2012 08:45 AM

I hit 1000 on the 9th day of having the car

Dr.Science 05-30-2012 09:14 AM

Wow, so that game ended pretty quick. Those of you over 1000 mi, how are you liking the car now that you can feel free to rev past 4K?

kanundrum 05-30-2012 10:45 AM

First thing I do when I get the car is going to NY for a shwarma, that should get about 4 to 500 miles on it!

mattles 05-30-2012 12:04 PM

I hit 1000 last week, fri/sat. ^_^b

kmbkk 05-30-2012 01:37 PM

I hit 1k on my way to work this morning. I pulled over, said a prayer to the car gods, lit a candle, then took off!

kayhettin 05-30-2012 01:56 PM

MarkRacerX 05-30-2012 02:57 PM

civicdrivr 05-30-2012 06:43 PM

terrypm 05-30-2012 08:12 PM

I am doing a good slow break in. I have had my FR-S 2 weeks and it has 344 miles on it.

dietz 05-30-2012 09:11 PM

I hate all of you! Just kidding... I seriously hope that my dealer gets my car by the official launch date of June 1st. I'm second in line, but I've got to believe that at least two are arriving at the same time.

luxmn 05-30-2012 09:17 PM

I dare to beat anyone in breaking in the slowest, have some self control guys ! Jk Have mine for almost 3 weeks now 248 miles. Why hurry? You only get to break it in once.

WOW!
You gotta hurry up man, you havent even tasted the best part of the car yet!!

Moto-P 05-31-2012 06:28 AM

1800 miles today, and still as solid as the day I got it 3 weeks ago.
Engine oil changed to rid of the factory break-in agent, and car gained a but of torque as tested on RS*R's dynamometer 2 days ago. Peak power stayed pretty much the same as before, but midrange torque at 3800~5200 increased significantly by about 5lbs/ft in most area, and hp in this range is up about 3hp.

Added RS*R RAN UP and tested it again, which also gave another 6lbs/ft, and minor bit of HP at midrange, with peak power still remaining similar.

So if I'm reading this correctly, you are up +11 ft/lbs and +3 bhp from an oil change and RAN UP? Dyno sheets please?

Man that stuff is expensive. And that's not including the oil for the oil change. Still gonna try it though. Hey Moto what oil did you use for your oil change?
