OFT - Connection Issue

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,

I'm having issues connecting with my OFT atm.
I keep getting "Error 0x63 while communicating with the device"

To sum up everything thats happened (in order):
- Flashed the car to "Stg1 A01G"
- Connected to the PC/Laptop then went into "Upload" removed each file then replaced them with 1.59 (A01G) variants
- Connected it back to the car and was told "Tuning file mismatching. ECU write denied"
- Connected it back to the PC to see if I could reverse the issue but haven't had any luck connecting, I keep running into "Error 0x63 while communicating with the device".

Tried it over a total of 3 different PCs with no luck

Has anyone come across this?

:thanks:

there is a newer open flash manager out. its 1.07.1 not sure if it will help with your issue at all, but worth a try.

Tried it this morning, no luck :(

This happened to me once. In my case, it was due to me deleting one of the ROMS. If I remember correctly, I had to flash back to stock, reset the OFT, & start over.

I've deleted and replaced mine with 1.59 variants, tried to flash and ran into this.

So I've actually lost the ability to flash and change ROMs lol

Yeah, I've shot an email to the guys a couple of days ago. Just waiting for a reply.

Was hoping to get E85 up and running this Friday, but i'm in no rush... it's practically Winter at the moment

Yes this happened to me. This is a quote from Shiv

"That error occurs when you delete the map that you were previous running. For example, if you were running map bank 4 and then you delete it and only load maps in bank 1, 2 and 3.

Simple fix: just load maps in each of the 5 map banks and you'll be good to go."

The only problem is, I can't connect to my Tablet.

I keep running into "Error 0x63 while communicating with the device" every time I click on "Download Data" or "Upload Data"

We will have to see what you did and then sort it out remotely. Can you please go the Download LOG section of OF Manager (with OFT connected) and press START. This will generate a rather large (~5mb) file that you can email to me at shiv@vishnutuning.com. I can send it to the programmers and they can sort it out somehow :)

Cheers,
shiv

Got it. Forwarded it to my programming team. Hope to have a resolution by tomorrow :)

I have exactly the same error... 0x63

This only happens on one of my laptops, other computers seem to work.
On another laptop however, when I go to upload it has the error:

"DEV121.DLL error"
"1"
"CTRL1"
"Checksum error"

I even tried applying Windows 8 patch, didn't work.

After looking through your log file, this is what happened:

1) You read the ECU successfully and the OFT generated OTS maps for you.
2) You wrote the Stage 1 A01G OTS map to your ECU.
3) You connected OFT to OF Manager and overwrote the modfile database file. While it was uploading, you clicked on the download section at the same time causing a communication stoppage between between the software and the OFT which generated corrupt files that are now stored in the OFT.

Which unfortunately means that your OFT needs to be replaced :( In the next user software release, we will make other sections un-clickable while an upload is in progress. You should have already received an email by Robert@vishnu. If not, shoot him an email tomorrow and we can arrange the next step. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,
shiv

Hmm. I had something similar happen to me. My problem seems to have been related to a bad install of a required Microsoft bit of software. My tablet was bricked as well. I reinstalled Win 7 and just the OFT manager. I made sure C++ installed correctly and was able to get access to the tablet to erase and start over.
