Typical cost to install Rocket Bunny Kits
As the title states i'm curious what shops have been charging people for Install only and Paint + install. I did do a search and found nothing as far as pricing except for those typical people who say $5000+ for install/wheels/suspension, if anyone can chime in on what they personally paid for the installation of the kit that would be awesome!
(don't have the balls to cut my own fenders). |
$3000 for paint and install.

You can get it all painted for less than $800. Install quotes range from $1800 to $2500 |
Not a version 2. Version 2 comes with complete front bumper and alone that piece cost $500 to paint. The smaller pieces are $300 for the pair of front fenders and $300 for the rear pair. The diffuser is $250 and wing is $200. The rest of the cost is cutting fender and fitting.

That $2500 won't even get normal width 17"/18" wheels with tires and decent suspension.

Also you don't want to go cheap on coilovers honestly with such an aggressive offset and stance your getting with the kit a lot of people are either running Stance,BC or kw and wheels alone your ball parking for 2500 and that's for something alright. For my work miester s1r got quoted 4800 with a homie hook up 18x9.5 -15 front and 18x10.5 -50 the kit isn't expensive it's just getting the right fitment from the wheels coilovers, your gonna get control arms, toe arms, to get things right and also extended studs and tires are gonna be a huge factor cause your going wide.
|
Unless you're going for replica wheels, save up more. If you're able to afford the kit then you should be able to afford the wheels.

$9,700 is a good budget for a rocket bunny v2 build.
4,150 for the kit, 2,000 for paint/install, $3,000 for name brand wheels and quality spacers if needed, and good tires $550. |
Good tires for $550? In widths appropriate for the wide wheels to properly fit an RB car I'd bet on at least $1000-$1250

Decent tires that will just work since he's trying to cut corners. |
May want to consider car depreciation before cutting it up. It wont gather the value of the RB kit more like take that cost off an already rapidly depreciating car. Just a thought. If your not ballin don't pretend to be.

I don't have an RB kit althought even before putting money down on a kit, I've already spent $1800 on Stance Pro Comp 2 coilovers, $500 on Stance Rear lower control arm, $2000 on a Air CUP system for the front, $3700 on wheels + tires (to fit under stock fenders). That's quite a bit just to get the suspension and wheels ready for any kit. |

Yeah I defiantly agree. If I ever did a rb kit I would defiantly run an air kit. I've added all up if I did it with everything is want it'd be about $12,000 which is crazy considering once you resell it'll be the same price as any used Frs unless you find a crazy rich enthusiast. |

A or B? Hint one spent more than the other. You decide.

@raytrix
I agree with OP. Your comparison is shit. "A" wasn't even finished in that picture. |

https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...98482046_o.jpg Here's another angle. https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...48709826_n.jpg Reason for that crazy stretch is because he went with a wider or meatier tire, the rear bumper finisher will rip right off. V1 wasn't very throughout when it was initially designed as a show piece. Street functions are out the door unless you ride on air or ride a little bit higher than usual. V2 resolved the finisher issue by elongating the rear piece further down before curving in to allow for more tire to clear the fender when you compress over a bump. |
Wheel gap was fixed...your pictures are out dated.

Reviving this thread. I'm looking to get just the front fenders are rear fenders from the rocketbunny v1 aero kit installed a painted. Would like to know what I might be paying before I go through and buy the kit, thanks!

There are also a few videos I just found on YouTube showing you all the steps to the install. Videos: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Uuz0BAzfno"]How To Install Rocket Bunny Kit : Wodebody BRZ Pt.1 - YouTube[/ame] [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqJNTMunjEY"]How To Install Rocket Bunny Kit : Widebody BRZ Pt.2 - YouTube[/ame] I spend a total of around $700 for my install and the kit. Price would've been lower, but I bought my kit before another company came out with the same kit half the price of mine. Total includes: Replica kit (~$430 but you can get the IKONs motorsport kit on the forums for $200) Rivet nuts, bolts, and sealer ($45) Plasti dip ($200) Other supplies I thought I would need ($20) http://i.imgur.com/vuan8ha.jpg http://imgur.com/a/4Q48Y |
Thanks! I may look into it. I'm just afraid of messing something up because this isn't anything like I have done before. Definitely worth a shot and a good way to spend my summer! :D
Also, I will be picking up ikons kit. It looks to be getting a lot of positive comments. |
