Haven’t seen this setup yet so here it is:

Rays Gram Lights 57Xtreme
17x9 +40
custom Mag Blue powder coat
245/40-17 Federal SS-595 square
stock suspension, stock alignment

Pardon the rally ride height:

Here’s the new and old tire side by side. Look at that extra meat:
http://jezlyn.smugmug.com/photos/i-f...fqzJJ3k-XL.jpg

The new wheel/tire combo is a bit heavier than stock: 45.75 lbs, vs oem ~42 lbs.
http://jezlyn.smugmug.com/photos/i-w...wQdSJkP-XL.jpg

The wheels poke slightly at stock ride height and alignment, but not bad.

Front:
http://jezlyn.smugmug.com/photos/i-K...KcD8RDC-XL.jpg

Rear:
http://jezlyn.smugmug.com/photos/i-5...5J9zWqd-XL.jpg

No rubbing, even at full lock. No issues at the fender or liner, front or rear. There’s about 5mm clearance between inside front tire and spring perch, not enough space to get any camber using crash bolts while on the stock springs. I’ll probably do camber plates instead so I can run RCE Yellows. I don’t want spacers or any more offset if I can avoid it.

http://jezlyn.smugmug.com/photos/i-q...qDMFgj2-XL.jpg

This is just step one. Suspension mods to follow.

Much thanks to Randy at Evasive Motorsports for setting this up for me. He was a huge help getting hold of the size I wanted and lined up the custom powder coating which turned out perfect. Can’t say enough positive about Evasive!

Daaaamn, nice man! really looking that powder coat! Adds some color to it!

IAmNotTheDriftKing 02-23-2014 07:06 AM

These are the exact size I wanted for these wheels, they look beautiful! I wish I had the cash for these :'( Maybe once I am out of college.

Wolfking 02-23-2014 07:45 AM

Nicely done! I really like the hot Lava/blue scheme. Had you have gone Lava /teal, I might have barfed right about now! I can't wait to see the lowered pics.

SpeedyJay 02-23-2014 11:56 AM

Very nice, I was pondering that setup for a while, good choice.

eklipz98 02-23-2014 03:21 PM

Loving this set up!!!

Myv 02-23-2014 04:14 PM

Did you get a shop to do that powder coating or you can order custom color from rays?

Evasive Motorsports works with a shop local to them for custom wheel coatings, and offered to have a set of silver wheels coated for a reasonable charge before shipping them out. They sent sample pics before I placed the order so I could judge the color.

Otherwise they don't come in mag blue, but you can find "Winning Blue" and "Velvet Marine" blue straight from Rays. Both are more of a matte finish and not as dark. Problem is they're only stocked in 18". The 17's would be special order from Rays for those colors.

Those are really nice wheels! I'm thinking of running a sized wheel similar to yours for the track. Do you notice more body roll compared to the stock setup? I'm just wondering since your offset is a 8mm difference from stock. Thanks

Thanks! No additional body roll noticed, except what comes from more aggressive cornering on more grip. ;) The car feels much more planted mostly due to the tires.

This looks fantastic. Seriously, well done. Do you have any rubbing issues with the +40 offset?

Thanks! No rubbing issues with the racecomp tarmac 0s, I ran the setup with the stock suspension as well and never rubbed even at full lock. Barely cleared the spring perch though

Just curious, are you running rear lca's?
If so which ones?

Do you think it would hit with 1" lowering springs? Sorry for all the questions, but I love the look of these and really want them now ha.

Currently not using LCAs, I was able to get -2 camber on the rears after lowering which I was happy with. Anymore negative camber and I would purchase LCAs cause tires will wear out quickly.

Ill most likely buy stance or SPL LCAs before I get my next alignment done.

You should be good to go since most lowering springs are much narrower than stock springs, I would buy camber bolts for the front though cause they poke out a bit.

Light blue lug nuts? Really?

The wheel of the color i'm fine with, but you're just committing murder with the lug nuts.

Shout out to the Z32 300ZX convertible in the background! Those shits are rare.
