Well, here goes my simple solution (that doesn't usually work) .... torque those two bolds down and see if it stops leaking.

Did you hit something? I forget what the tranny looks like with no marks on it.
|
Take it to the dealer. That's what the warranty is for.
|
If that's the gearbox to the bellhousing, did you go over something sideways?????
Maybe it's cracked? |

How much oil is leaking? Did you wipe it clean? Frankly I don't see a leak. Where is the transmission breather on this gearbox? Sometimes a new transmission might blow a little oil out of the breather. This is more likely if the transmission got very hot after say a track day in summer? Also, could it be engine oil blown back in the underbody slipstream? |
The problem is a leak.
The solution is take it to the dealer and have them fix it. |
It looks like you hit something..

+1 on taking it to the dealer. They should handle it if there is warranty, even if the bolts are slightly loose. They need to investigate it and you may even get a new seal and tranny fluid from all this.

Or stop speculating and have a dealer take a look. Or, have a certified mechanic take a look if you hit something. -alex |
the thing is i got the car from auction so it doesn't have warranty im still trying to fix the car up just need to pull it and paint it
|
Warranty is for 3 years 36k miles and 5 years 60k for powertrain. That's factory warranty, what does the auction have to do with anything?
|
Rebuilt title maybe

Just take it to any Toyota dealer they have to fix it it's under warranty. |
It only has 9k miles and its salvage title does that affect the warranty? Because I was reading if its salvage it voids the warranty
|
Well, that's an interesting question. Depends on whether or not that information is available to the dealer via their computer system. I'd take it to the dealer and act like your the second owner and not mention the title deal. Say you bought it used, which you did. Then if they come back to you and say they can't do anything because of the title being a salvage title, then pick up the car and take it where you want for repairs.
|
Wipe it down, check it again in a week or two. This doesn't look like a leak it's more like sweat.
Some cars do it worse than others depends on variances and assembly, etc.. |
