Anyone have an Invidia N1 with a Front Pipe?

Title is quite self explanatory but, does anyone have an Invidia N1 with a front pipe? I'm asking this because I want to do a similar set up in the future and I'm somewhat concerned about the combination of the two being too loud. I'll be daily driving with this set up! I'm content with the noise and slight (not that much imo) drone of the Invidia N1. ALSO, if anyone has an Invidia N1, any front pipe, and a mid pipe?!

Should I go towards the Invidia Q300 + front pipe instead?

By the way, I live in NorCal so I'm minutely concerned about the possibility of cops pulling me over if I do go for a N1 + a front pipe set up. Thanks guys, enjoy your day!:respekt:

Most guys say the n1 with the front pipe is to much for most, but everyone has a take on what's loud and tolerable. I know most guys wanting to get a exhaust for a dd the will lean towards the q300 with the front pipe, looks good sounds good and not to loud. There are plenty of YouTube videos to compare the two and you will get some drone with the n1 none with the q300. Hope that helps

I got an N1 with a front pipe. It's loud at first, but start to quiet down after all the carbon build up on the pipe walls. It's has been my DD for about 8 months and I'm more than used to it.

^ yeah same for me invidia catless resonated front pipe and n1 catback a bit loud at first when brand new but quiets down to a perfect tone imo i love it not too loud just right!!

That's awesome that you dd with that the N1 + front pipe set up. Have you had any trouble with the cops? And where abouts in California are you? Norcal or Socal?

I have the N1 with a catted, Berk front pipe. There is a bit of drone as you'd expect with the N1. I don't find it to be too loud, but I've recently gotten complaints of my car being too loud in my neighborhood, even though I'm very careful around it. (When I'm coming home or leaving I just coast through). The particular frequency of the exhaust actually does resonate through my house, which doesn't help since my house is a floor above the garage. In any case, I love it, my girlfriend loves it, my family doesn't care, and my friends love it.

I haven't gotten pulled over even once yet either. Take this as you will!

I have the N1 and just got the catted/resonated Nameless OP/DP combo installed and it completely killed the drone. I don't know how but it did. Cleaned up the exhaust note too, sounds fantastic now.

Oh, and just cruising around it didn't make it louder (thank gawd). Although above 4K its a little louder and backfires a bit more (which is nice).

I don't have a front pipe but I am running UEL headers with the N1and it sounds amazing. Ive had cops driving near me but havent got pulled over (knocks on wood). As long as you're being a responsible driver, you have nothing to worry about

Neighbor has this...its loud enough to hear inside my house and shake his garage door when he starts it in the morning...I have a Q300 its totally the opposite end of the loudness scale....

Can you take a video of your setup doing some stationary revs? @Jac

I was running a N1 + catless front pipe. It was loud but i dd it for months and just got used to it.

Now i have added a overpipe+OFH i have reassigned what loud actually is. Its would be way to loud for most in this config. Sounds great though

Is there any way you can film some drive by or in cabin sound clips of your OFH + Invidia N1 combo? I've gotten a M7 T-Titanium Cat back (somewhat similar design to the Invidia N1, just without the resonator in the midpipe) since the creation of this thread and am curious of how an OFH + N1 would sound.

86viper 04-26-2014 12:33 PM

im working on putting some vids together with my sound meter. Including some before wit just the n1/Front pipe.

Its sounds absolutely great right now, but its illegally loud at even part throttle. Im going to leave it until i get in trouble (its only a matter of time) though

DJCarbine 04-26-2014 12:36 PM

Revworks header, PLM overpipe, ARK test pipe, N1 catback

Its loud, but I DD it. No drone, just loud. Before I got the ARK test pipe with helmholtz resonator, it was drone/headache central. Now... its just loud, but no drone

I only have crappy iphone 4s :( But I can do one anyway if you like.

blugbox 04-26-2014 09:35 PM

Jac, please do! I currently have the n1, and will be getting the nameless OPFP as well. I will be getting the OFH before the OPFP though, so I will never hear it without the header. I'm curious to see how it sounds compared to just the n1 alone.

86viper, I can't wait to see your vids!

Mike86 04-26-2014 11:25 PM

I run full catless revworks header pl overpipe invidia reaonated front pipe and n1 catback its loud but very managable not much drone and relativly quiet unless you really step on it!! I personally love it!! Gf says its too loud though but its all relative !!

wootwoot 04-27-2014 12:34 AM

To you guys running a catless front pipe: does the car smell like u burned fuel?

Nope no smell at all from catless front pipe if you have a catted header!

ilpad 04-27-2014 11:43 PM

I have the Invidia N1, Invidia midpipe and catless Invdia frontpipe.

Its loud.

It drones.

It sounds badass.

Churg 04-28-2014 01:30 PM

I only have an N1, but later this week I'll have my Nameless Front/Overpipe, I'm excited to see how it sounds.

I've put well over 30k on the N1, so far I don't mind the noise; in fact, in may be a little too quiet for my tastes. I like loud. Whenever I'm around cops, I just baby the car and am fine. Hell, if my friend with an STi can run a catless front pipe and an N1 and never get pulled over once driving through LA, I'm pretty sure we'll be okay ;)

sklimo 04-28-2014 01:39 PM

P&L EL headers
Invidia overpipe
Invidia Catted front Pipe
N1's back

Loud as all fucking hell. Got a warning for being too loud. Neighbors hate me. But it sounds friggin AMAZING.

FR-S Matt 04-28-2014 04:19 PM

JDL UEL
JDL Overpipe
Invidia Catted FP
Invidia N1

Loud, 0 rasp, sounds as close as you can get to a WRX. Really enjoy it.

How long does it take to quiet down? Like a few days?

Any videos of it? Getting Gruppe-s uel headers soon and need something to reduce the drone of the N1, or I’m gonna have to ditch it and just run the stock cat for a bit.

Probably more like a couple weeks. It doesn't quiet down too much, just slightly.

I have it now, it got better, and doesn't give me headaches now. Getting UEL headers soon and planning on getting a different cat, or at least a helmoholtz fp
