HELP! After Unichip install, car won't start!!!
Uhhhh wtf do I do?
Make sure all the plugs are inserted all the way, check ground, check maps... Worst case take it off? This isn't a warranty/recall issue, this has nothing to do with subaru/scion.

Like he said, if all else fails take it back off and try it stock. |
Went back to stock and now have a CEL
Make sure you have the intake hose fully connected...mine was loose and cause cel. Mine got loose after playing around with unichip. If car isn't starting the 3rd plug...ah I forgot what one that is called (behind engine) If that one is not fully connected I know the car wont start.
This sounds a lot like something was left unplugged or installed improperly (throttlebody issue or crank angle sensor disturbed)...recheck all your connections..
Did the car attempt to crank at all..or was it just silent, sitting there doing nothing? What is the CEL code? That could help us help you as well... |
Sounds like you forgot the grounding wire.
Cruise control will not turn on. Does that mean a specific code? I don't have a code reader. The car started to crank but would not turn over.

why in the world are you installing unichip on your car if you don't even have a code reader??? |
what did unichip say when you contacted them to troubleshoot your installation?

Well now the CEL went off. I'm not sure what's going on, but I'll try the installation again soon.
To me it sounds like you forgot to install something. The instructions aren't the best honestly. When I forgot to install the 1/0 switch to the large pin connector (I connected to the small connector) my car would not start. When I finally got it to start I had a CEL which was cleared after a battery reset. I don't know how Flux works since I don't have one but make sure it is plugged in the right spot.
you need to connect the flux2. It will datalog the readings and it's the only way to send a signal to the obd2 port. If you need help, pm me and I will walk you through the install.
I'd check the plug for crank sensor. I also had a weird issue where, I think, it didn't come with any maps pre installed. If you bought the cable, try installing your maps. I'd wager on the crank sensor plug though... And what a pita that thing is to get to!

Love the "got no answer"

Whatever happened with this? I just tried installing my Unichip and had the exact same issue (cranks but won't start). I checked every connection twice (can't forget the ground as you have to remove it to get to the crank position sensor). Removed the harness and the car fires right up. I'm currently trying to see what maps are on the Unichip itself...
Has anyone had else had an issue where one map works fine but the other map limits the revs to 4000 or am i just crazy.
Sounds like you accidentally grabbed a valet map.
uhh bump, having the same issue
