Well, I just got off the phone with Roy Robinson, and Magic toyota of lynnwood adn both of them state that they are not taking any orders what so ever in any form. From what they mentioned they say they are getting there sales and rep packages this week. The one thing Roy Robinson stated is that they will be getting 6 BRZ when they come in. Magic toyota stated 4 FR-S. They both stated that they will be taking custom orders but they will take 8-12 weeks......Damn 3 month waiting list is going to suck but worth it if I get what I want.

brianbot5000 02-27-2012 06:11 PM

Thanks for checking and posting. I was just thinking we needed a thread like this.

I'd love to know what other folks have heard from Chaplins, Walker's, etc - all of the other area Suby dealers. I'm on the verge of emailing some of them myself. I'd really like it if one of them got a BRZ in for a couple of days to show, like some of the SoCal dealerships have been doing.

Tainen 02-28-2012 04:32 PM

BRZ info-

Walkers Renton Subaru only has one confirmed signed pre-order (me :)) and is getting 16 cars this year. I was able to talk them into 400 under MSRP.

Carters in shoreline is getting 20, but has a ton more pre-orders (I'm 3rd in line there). They won't budge off of MSRP, but they seem to be a more upstanding dealership- they told me they would NOT sell above MSRP, no matter what. Walkers says they will sell above MSRP as soon as they possibly can, when the demand is high enough.

Smokinbuffalo 02-29-2012 12:44 AM

I talked to Roy Robinson Subaru in Marysville, WA today. They are getting 6 cars, and they want $2,000 over sticker price.
I do not think I will be placing a preorder with Roy Robinson.

Crashoverride 02-29-2012 01:34 PM

got a call back from Roy Robinson this morning, they stated that they willl be selling 2, 000 above MSRP....= Lose and loss of my sale as well looks like I will be going to renton Subaru to get my car.

Can't you guys in WA go to Oregon and buy it there? It's about a 3 hr drive from Seattle to Portland right?

Yeah, but what would be the point? I guess possibly having access to more dealerships? We don't get out of paying sales tax - state hits you with excise tax once you register it, which is basically the same thing.

brianbot5000 02-29-2012 02:30 PM

I'd just love to know when one dealership in our area (and I mean anywhere remotely close) is going to have a BRZ to at least look at. Jeez...I just can't bring myself to put in an order for a car I've never seen in person. I don't need to drive the thing, but man...at least to sit in it would be nice before committing to plunk down $27+ .

The state tax you can't avoid but I was referring OR for more low key dealerships and even a better deal on the car itself. I've been to Washington and have relatives in Seattle, Kent and Tacoma. Maybe you can stay within state lines and look outside Seattle too.

For us in SoCal, if I was buying the first year like you guys, I would drive past LA at some of the less populated dealerships. CA is strict when it comes to buying a new car out of state. If bought, the car has to have 7500 miles before it can be registered here.

MarkRacerX 02-29-2012 02:43 PM

Most dealers will have a Demo to show/ test. Then it sounded they all have different allocations to order. My local dealer said if you want one at dealer expect +$2000 MSRP, but if you order normal pricing. However, if ordering is like an STi, they have been FAST! My brother just traded in his 08' STi on a 12' and avg 2-3 weeks to arrive after order placed. So if these are good to go, hoping be FAST TOO once placed. But how lame, pay up for the one at dealer, they seem to want to order how you want and just keep one at dealer from my understanding.

I am curious on First 86 deal how soon we will get the car, darn waiting game. After flying down to Toyota Sports Headquarters / Formula Drift / Dinner w/ Scion VP it said we would be contacted after the " Fun Filled weekend " about details to get the car.

Scion Went BIG for First 86, Cool Stuff !!!! Def be interesting to see a CA FD Event, I've gone to Monroe,WA event since 2006, Fun Times!!!

AwesomeI was just over at TOK yesterday to pic up a radiator cap for my supra, I didn't try to ask about the FR-S...
Thing is I'm ok with ordering and waiting... kind of like christmas...

e46m3 03-01-2012 11:14 AM

I have the #2 spot at Carter Subaru in Shoreline. My order should be going in the system today. I am getting a Red Limited w/ Homelink mirror.

brianbot5000 03-01-2012 02:29 PM

Any other Seattle area / Washington orders out there? Either no one is actively posting (here, or in other popular forums like NASIOC), or the demand in our area isn't as high as in other areas. Seems quiet.

Personally, I'm trying not to get too worked up about this car - would love to actually see the thing first (crazy, huh??). But I did just email a few dealerships about it, now that they actually acknowledge that their taking orders.

zigzagz94 03-02-2012 12:55 PM

I was talking with Mike Scarff Subaru of Auburn and they want $1000 over MSRP but did say that if I wanted to wait until early 2013 that I could probably get a BRZ premium on VIP program. This is after they told me they still didn't know what MSRP would be though, so I doubt they know anything concrete about VIP pricing.

I refuse to pay dealer mark-up so I'm ok with waiting for the hype to die down.

Smokinbuffalo 03-03-2012 11:23 PM

I have the number 9 spot at Carter Subaru in Shoreline. They are selling it at MSRP. My local dealer, Roy Robinson in Marysville wanted $2,000 over MSRP. I looked elsewhere after hearing that.
I'm getting a white, manual, limited BRZ.

Did you just place your order today? What sort of deposit are they requiring.

Smokinbuffalo 03-04-2012 03:51 AM

Carter Subaru in Shoreline

I made my order Wednesday. When I called Saturday it sounded like they still had slots open. They didn't need a deposit. No strings. Did it all over phone and email, didn't have to come in. Call them and ask to talk to James Bennett.

Hey guys, I met with Josh (Not sure of his screen name) yesterday and wanted to just introduce myself so you guys can use me as a resource for questions and such.

I'm one of the Scion specialists at TOK, I also started PSTOC (pstoc.org) so I have a lot of passion with the tuner world.

I put my business facebook and twitter pages in my sig, and e-mail is open anytime too. I keep those updated with info as I get it. I'll try and stop by here from time to time too.

So far we have 3 deposits which include one of the First 86 cars, so there might be a bit of a wait on one, but we're still open to taking them as this should help us leverage some more inventory from Scion, and we have a policy of no second sticker mark ups on cars right now, so I don't see that changing by launch.

Hey Roger! Thanks for making your presence known!

This is a good guy, lots of experience..if anyone is in the market for a FR-S on the eastside Toyota of Kirkland is the place.

I ordered a Limited BRZ last week. Well I got this odd email from the dealer Wednesday.

"They would not let me order the push button start or the fog lights from the port, so we will need to add those at the dealership. Anyways the order is in! "

Why would the dealership be installing push button start and fog lights? Has anyone else heard anything like that? Does this imply you could talk the dealer into knocking the price down on a Limited w/o those two options? Hell, maybe they can add those options to a Premium. I'll call the dealer tomorrow and double check that order.

Smokinbuffalo 03-11-2012 05:52 PM

Carter's Subaru will have a BRZ to show

I texted the dealer at Carter's and learned a couple things. Firstly, the Limited gets the options as listed on the web site. He didn't talk about what options the dealers will install. Secondly, he said that the will have a BRZ on the lot for people to see Wednesday March 21st. It will only be there one day.
That's right, Carter's Subaru in Shoreline will have a BRZ on display, one day only, March 21st. :w00t:

It comes standard, that's why they can't order it. LOL
Just talked to a guy at Carter too. I will go to check the car out on that day. :D
I might have to wait next year to get the car since they will only sell at MSRP.

Tainen 03-13-2012 07:47 PM

FYI, Chaplins is getting 18, and has stated that they will do 1-3k over MSRP.

I'm 1st at walkers, and as of saturday, no one else has pre-ordered... so if you want on the first shipment, at MSRP, go to walkers. We'll get our cars together. :)

Wow, surprising to hear...good to hear too I guess, cause now I don't feel as rushed.

I'm *this close* to putting in my order at Carter Subaru - Silver, I just can't decide between the Limited and Premium. The spoiler is the only thing that's the hold-up, though I must say it's growing on me. It's odd - the more I see the car the more I like the spoiler and dislike the look without a spoiler...but then I'll see one random angle of each (usually from behind), and have a complete change of heart. :iono:

if you want the car sooner, go to walkers. Carter already has a ton of people in line for one. BUT- walkers is jerking me around a bit. They really, really want me to put a non-refundable deposit down on the car. I told them I won't put down a non-refundable deposit on a car I hadn't seen in real life, let alone even test driven, especially when there is no price.

one of the salesmen threatened me a bit by telling me if I don't have a deposit down, when the car comes, it's up for grabs by anyone... sigh. I hate dealerships like that. (even though I have a signed vehicle order, signed by the dealership giving me 72 hours first right of refusal)

However, yesterday I got a mail from him informing that it could be ther as early as 19th.
