Any info on BRZ STi coming to AU??

As the thread title says, is there any information indicating that a BRZ STi will come to our shores or at least STi parts such as STi front lip/STi brakes and the like???

**delete if repost

Subaru sells STI parts at the dealers but the prices are not cheap.

Gear knob for WRX STI is like $200+, front lip is like $800. U can have a look if u try their "build & price your Subaru" feature on the website, it's at the end under "select your accessories".

Yeah, I used to work for subaru... STI stuff is awesome, but it is really expensive

mikedsilva 02-23-2012 08:09 AM

nafe, I take it you work for part of the AP Eagers group?

Nafe 02-23-2012 08:34 AM

Haha, I do actually

JDM-dono 02-24-2012 11:37 PM

Cheers guys!

Hrmm expensive eh? I did a quick conversion of some parts and they didn't seem that expensive, can't remember the numbers though. Would it be cheaper to buy the parts from JPN and ship it here?

Nardi330 02-25-2012 01:14 AM

STI Japan hasn't released any price yet so too early to tell

Nafe 02-25-2012 03:31 AM

But short answer, yes. It will be cheaper to import than to buy through a dealer here.

I'm under the impression that Subaru will probably gauge how many BRZs they sell this year. Then take it from there. But I'm assuming that STI parts will be available as well.

JDM-dono 02-25-2012 04:54 PM

ah ok. Thanks for the replies

Love to know if there was an STi on the way as well but don't suppose they will let that slip as presumably there's lots of people like you and I who will hold off buying a BRZ if there is!

Hard to know what is happening with Subaru now - will the BRZ and STi BRZ replace the WRX/STi based on Impreza, or will there be all four available, or some variation in between...

Like you, I hope the STi parts are available at least... At the very least need something to replace those disgusting alloys they have on it in all the photos to date!

Nafe 02-27-2012 06:52 AM

Alloys are easy to replace dude... Work, volk, enkei, etc all make better rims than any stock options...
Swaybars, coilovers, bracing... That's the sort of stuff we need :)

BigM 02-29-2012 06:42 AM

True but I always like to keep my cars as factory as possible. :)

Nafe 02-29-2012 06:53 AM

Fair enough man :)
I am the opposite lol. I hate factory cars :P Well, hate is a bit strong.. But I like to improve cars haha

davey90 02-29-2012 06:59 AM

LOL! i guess i'm bit of both worlds.

I like my car stock till warranty is over, then i go mad on personalising it to my taste.

Nafe 02-29-2012 07:53 AM

I will do fairly basic things while in warranty. Exhaust (inc headers), intake, wheels, coilovers. Probably leave it at that though!

BigM 03-01-2012 03:58 AM

Yeah I am not impartial to an intake, exhaust, tune but the cosmetic stuff I like to keep stick to a factory catalogue... Dunno why, just preference. :)

Nafe 03-01-2012 06:18 PM

Agreed mate, I always prefer factory style aero :)

As long as the BRZ sells well then surely they will, even if it's just a limited batch... I think Australia is a reasonably well performing market for Subaru, even if it's small, so seems likely.

Let's hope so anyway!

Too much to ask for a timeline though I guess, they won't want to do any more to put people off buying a BRZ...

The black roof, carbon front lip and STI wheels combo leaves me with a fuzzy feeling in my pants.
