CIAS 2012 Media Day Photos

Hi,

I didn't end up making the press conference for Toyota/Scion on the media day, but I ended up back at the booth when they were setting everything up. I found the FRS sitting with unlocked doors and snapped a couple interior pics but mainly exterior shots. I must say, the seating position is great, very comfortable and the seats are body hugging for sure!

Even popped the hood... Baller!

Nice shots. Anybody else notice the fluffies on the seat? jk...

Thanks for the pics RobStar :-)
Maybe it is the lighting or your camera, but the red looks really good there. Typically I am not a fan of shouty reds, but it does look very 'sporty' and seems to suit the car quite well.

RobStar86 02-17-2012 09:58 PM

Thanks!

I played with the saturation a bit since the lighting is horrible, but yeah it's a nice red on the car. If I wasn't so in love with white, I'd probably get a red one and I'm not really a fan of red cars.

hows the visibility from the ****pit?

thx for sharing also

RobStar86 02-17-2012 10:05 PM

It's actually really good. I would compare it to my 7th Gen Celica

Saibot 02-17-2012 10:22 PM

u literally walked in there and popped the hood/went inside the car??

 thx I was kind worried with how the back windows are shaped that they might limit field of vision abit

awesome news for me

Zaku 02-17-2012 10:44 PM

Snoopyalien24 02-17-2012 10:53 PM

Yeah, I'm badass like that lol. The car was off to the side while they were reconstructing the display and was to be moved once the display was done. Lucky for me, that was a long while away so I spent a good 20 min looking at it, sitting in it, etc. Definitely the highlight of my day :)

Yeah, if you have driven a 7th gen Celica, which has windows that come to points and a really thick "C" pillar, it's the same idea. It would be something you would get used to in time regardless.

No Problem :) I mean, if I get a chance to get in one before it's even out, I'd be selfish not to share what I saw/experienced. I didn't get as many pictures as I had hoped since I was too busy geeking out about it haha.

I don't remember if it was full alcantara style material, but looking back at the pics it does seem that way.

KevinDuMa 02-18-2012 01:05 AM

Thanks robstar for the great photos. A few things I must point out...I've said this before but I'm gonna say it again the headlights are ugly as fuckkk...those exhaust pipes look very tiny...and I can't believe they left the keys in the car lol

just86 02-18-2012 01:57 AM

red seem to be different from pic to pic..well not just red
i have to see it in person, picture doesn't justify

Sasquachulator 02-18-2012 03:14 AM

Its funny how that horrible horrible stereo from the press shots make the interior look cheap, but the interior actually doesnt look so bad when the stereo has a LCD screen in it lol.

Enemies 02-18-2012 03:40 AM

Yeah, it changes the interior a huge amount. Been saying from the start that if the BRZ is overpriced I'm going to get an FR-S and just switch up the Nav in it.

lol I know they're not, just stating an observation

ZetaVI 02-18-2012 09:04 AM

Thanks for the pics. I think red is the color is really nice on your camera but red is the color you have to look in person to judge. I'm very back and forth on liking it. Red is my favorite color but I don't want to be disappointed when I see it.

Well, they leave the keys in the car since they were assembling the booth and need to move the cars around. More convenient to just leave them in the car. It wasn't a public day so there's no worry of some idiot kids swiping the keys and taking off with it. Plus if you check the pics, there is very little place to go if you could get the car going.

The seats are losing the red stitching and accents (on the Canadian version at least - see the CIAS threads). Seats will look pretty plain, but on balance it's worth it to lose those red tabs on the wings. Unfortunately that much better looking HU will be an expensive option.

Wow, that's great.

I leased an s2000 7 years ago for about 8 months.. Not my cup of tea, but couldn't fit in the car a year or two later.

5'11, 160.. Mostly arms and legs (ectomorph) so legroom will be very important. The 350z felt great, but the 370 has a little less legroom.

The Porsche 997 had plenty of leg room, and I expect the same form this 2+2. Can't wait!
