2013 Order Cut off Date for BRZ
 

Hello my FT-86 Friends,

Clint from Heuberger's here. I just wanted to inform you, that the cut off date for 2013 BRZ orders is April 30th, 2013. We should see 2014's arriving in October.

I will be creating an order thread this weekend.

Just curious... So the Scion 10 Series which is a 2014 model based on my understanding will deliver starting in June. So the non-10 Series FRS's and the BRZ's won't start arriving until October? Seems late based on the current year was released early and then the 10 Series will arrive in June.

I'm not trying to stir the pot but rather trying to understand the rationale a bit and make some decisions based on facts. Thanks in advance for any additional insight you can share.

The Scion FR-S 10 series is a 2013 model, not a 2014 model. 2014 model production doesn't start until after the 10 series ends.

Only the tC and iQ 10 series will be 2014 models, because 2014 production starts in May for these vehicles. The xB, xD and FR-S 10 series will all be 2013 models.

Yes. If you order today, they'll make your BRZ to 13 specifications. Tomorrow and you'll get any new feature they put on the 14, but your wait time will be longer

Correct. If you buy what's on the lot it's the current MY. So it'll be a 2013. If you wait a few months you might be able to get a discount on a 2013 MY since they want to make room for the 2014's to come in.

But if you contact Clint, he will take care of you and give you a great price. It's up to you if you want to wait a few months for the 2014

No if you don't order today, the car will not be a fourteen, we can save your deposit as dealers like getting your money. However, since I do not know the price of the fourteens I wont take money unless I know the customer is satisfied with the price :)

From what I understand, they are only producing so many cars, and the number/type of orders has little or no bearing on the number they produce. So it is possible that they could fulfill all the orders for the 2013MY and your order could spill over into a 2014MY. At least that's how it was explained to me; perhaps you can confirm or deny that. I had a lengthy conversation with the SoNE rep who basically said they build cars in batches and fulfill the orders first, but just because there is an order, doesn't mean that they will build the car.

I ordered my GBS Limited 6MT on Feb 21st and they haven't even put it in my dealer's allocation, let alone build it. I also have a customer who ordered a '13 WRX Limited with navi around the same time, and they've allocated but not built his yet, but we've gotten a WRB WRX Limited and CBS BRZ Limited during the time our cars were ordered, because that's apparently what they already built. :iono:

I don't figure anything, that's just how it is as per Toyota's production schedule and documents.

10-series production is probably all going to happen in June.

2014 FR-S, xB, xD and FR-S production doesn't start until August.
2014 tC and iQ production starts in May.

Ordering guides release from Toyota have the 10-series as 2013 model year for xB, xD and FR-S and as 2014 model year for tC and iQ.
