Brake pads
Hi, Im looking for an upgrade in brake pads for my BRZ because I can not justify a BBK. I want something quiet and low dust and the Hawk Ceramics caught my eye but I've only found one thread that talks about them and not much info. (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=hawk+ceramic) Im wondering if anyone is using these pads or if anyone is using pads that are quiet and low dust. Quiet is more of a priority. The stock pads feel too soft.

Is this just for street driving?

Hawk ceramics will likely feel worse than stock. They will be quiet and dust-free though.

Sounds like you want more bite. The thing is, more bite generally means more dust. If you want less dust, you're going to have less bite.
|
I've heard lots of good things about Stoptech street pads so long as they don't see the sustained abuse of lapping a track.

More bite = more dust. |

Would the Stoptech Street Performance hold up fine to auto-x?

I should also say that although the ceramics did dust less (it buys you basically a week or 2 of less dust than stock), the noise was probably equal to stock. Stock making basically no noise. |
Has anyone used Project Mu on their FRS/BRZ yet?
|
I would stay with OEM pads, they are pretty good for stopping.

Ok so Im starting to get the feeling that the Hawk pads arent as good as i thought. Ive done some more searching and have come up w/ a few different options. Has any one used Project Mu NS 400, or Endless SS-Y. This is the first sighting ive seen from Endless for the FRS/BRZ.

Just get StopTech Street Performance pads. I promise you will love them. For the price they can't be beat.

Project mu bforce are great for spirited driving and DD

Ive personally narrowed it down to Project Mu ( HC+800 or NS400) or Endless SS-Y.
|
Seems like a big waste of money to me. I would just follow everyone's suggestions and go with the Stoptech Streets, which are less than half the cost. But they aren't JDM Yo!
