And just another Armrest (actually 2 of them).

Well - at first then I took delivery of my FRS I was like - what the hell - no armrest? Really? It was strange feeling - because im used to rest my elbow - especialy on the longer journeys... Sooo - it was just the matter of time until I will get one done for my FRS.. And as I see more and more request about armrest here - I would like to hear everyones thought about options / needs - because im thinking to bring these 2 in full production...

Option 1 - its already in the makings - will be made from either ABS plastic or FRP (cant tell which option yet - because still calculating all the pricings) will be covered in leather (with or without red stiching?) and will open up from front. Will come with cup holder on the back (not possible to hit it with your elbow while shifting - already been tried - and as im 6.5 foot - so I have not the shortest arms - so I already tried everything on this cup holder :D)

Will come with hinges / templates ready to install - all you will need is to just simply screw 2 self screwing screws and that's it.

Option 2 - no cup holder - and opening to the passenger side only. Will be available in leather OR Carbon fiber. Hinges on the side - so install will be pretty easy too - just 4 screws. Stock cup holder can still be used once its armrest lifted up.

Well - here are my 2 options - if you have any requests / ideas you would like to share - just share them here.

I will try and keep pricing as low as possible - so MIGHT drop the idea of stitching (to keep price low), but still will use REAL leather (Im mostly using BMW or Porsche leather) OR Sway options will be also available.

Option 1, name your price.

Nifty arm rest, but what I really want to see are these "self screwing screws"...

Tylub 02-01-2013 06:00 PM

option 2 reminds me of the RX-8 a little, maybe incorporate a slide back design or something because i loved my RX-8 armrest hehe...

#1 is cool too but definitely will get it if wrapped in leather.. I'm for both designs leather wrapped with matching red stitching. Maybe incorporate a "hole" for cords for AUX or charging wires?

...mmm Sorry - don't know how to call them (English isn't my main language :D) they are the screws that don't need any drilling - just screws with like 'drill bit on the tip' and they just drill hole once you screw them... We just call them self screwing screws (not in English of course - so I translated it 'straight by words'...)

Hope this makes sence? :iono:

You will be able to run wires at the front of the armrest - cuz there will be little space left (just for the wires) at the very front of the armrest.

I was just kidding...and they're self tapping screws. Arm rests look great though. Best design (by far) that I've seen yet...

doggy 02-01-2013 06:08 PM

Ok - will know how to call them - Self tapping :) Thanks!

JoeBoxer 02-01-2013 06:08 PM

Option 1 in leather with stiching please, been holding off for a while on an armrest but really like this one.

wbradley 02-01-2013 06:35 PM

Looks good.

MrTranxD 02-01-2013 06:36 PM

Man option #1 looks great. Leather wrapped with red stitching would be great!

CharlieChaos 02-01-2013 06:44 PM

Saw this on facebook and I just want to let you know my wife hates you for making all of these products lol.

The interior pieces look sick I am waiting on the light up 86 you posted and now this armrest!!

NemeGuero 02-01-2013 07:01 PM

Could you please show more pictures of how option 2 is mounted and how it opens?
Thank you.

PS. Leather with red stitching.

chenshuo 02-01-2013 07:27 PM

Option 1 leather with red. are we still able to put the oem cup holder underneath?

when will it be available for purchase?

ExWhyZer0 02-01-2013 07:27 PM

Option 1 with a smooth faux leather like on the doors with single red stitching.

Afterwards...my money will be yours lol.

Although I'm not really sure how I feel about the hole there though. I'd have to see it finished.

But seriously looking good so far. Have a price ready ;)

zex 02-01-2013 07:28 PM

I LIKE THIS ONE!

Ricepuddin 02-01-2013 07:31 PM

Also ta add to this, I like number 1 as it keeps the cup holder.

Wow these look great! Option 1 with stitching and a similar material to match the rest of the car would be nice. :)

doggy - been following your stuff, you have some serious talent!
...waiting for your light up console piece :happyanim:

I like option 1 without the cup holder or option 2 if it lifts up similar to option 1. Material to match the door armrests with single red stitching is my preference.

Would it be possible to make the armrest higher/raised up and hollowed out to allow taller items to fit in the console like this one?

tbwoodlee 02-01-2013 07:42 PM

Very nice man. You are doing some fantastic things for our cars, keep it up!

zoomzoomers 02-01-2013 07:49 PM

Nice! Will be following very closely. :thanks:

Mistergreggles82 02-01-2013 11:18 PM

Subscribed! :D

Maik L 02-01-2013 11:31 PM

 great job.
Option #1 Leather wrapped with red stitching

wootwoot 02-01-2013 11:52 PM

How far back does the lid on the first option go back? Does it lay flat on top of the cup holder piece?

Is the cup holder just a hole? Or does it line up with the stock cup holder as well?

My vote is for res stitching. That thing will look bad-ass...

FRSGT86 02-03-2013 01:04 AM

Option 1- matching leather like material as whats in the cars and with red stitching!

Nice job by the way!

p00mba 02-03-2013 10:24 AM

sub'd very intrested in this...

Shagaliscious 02-03-2013 10:36 AM

#1, I really like that design.

I do have a question about the cupholder though. What is the diameter of the hole? Is it the same size as the factory cupholders? And will it just be the hole like in the picture? Or will you make a bottom for it? (if that makes sense)

sid325 02-04-2013 01:27 PM

Option #1 Leather wrapped with red stitching. Very interested.

avusblue 02-04-2013 10:07 PM

I like option 2. I would order it in black leather. Great work! :w00t:

Minovsky 02-04-2013 10:48 PM

Option 2 with leather but a thin layer of cushioning might be nice? Like the door :D

FR-Shadow 02-05-2013 12:14 AM

Option 2. I think the carbon fiber is different and would match the dash you make. Depending price difference though.

MmmDieselFumes 02-05-2013 01:14 AM

Option 1 in Carbon-Fiber!

Option 1, leather wrapped with red stitching.

enjoi23 02-05-2013 03:21 AM

Option one wrapped in CF?

AsphaltLover 02-05-2013 03:35 AM

another vote for option 1, leather, red stitching. def want.

Bones36 02-05-2013 11:25 AM

Option 1!

Pete 02-05-2013 11:35 AM

Damn @doggy, you just had to wait until I already got an armrest.

I like option #1, I think it will be functional!

...but I really want a set of your other interior pieces.

@doggy, have you tested if the clearance on the hinged front section is good enough to not hit a phone charger plugged into that power plug? I EXCLUSIVELY use that plug for charging my phone.
