How did you wire your new speakers?
To those of you that installed a new set of speakers/amp, how did you wire them?
|
RCAs from the deck to the sub amp. Vampire taps for the separates in the doors in conjunction with some aftermarket adapters.

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002BBP7Y"]Amazon.com: Metra 72-8104 Speaker Connector for Select Toyota Vehicles: Electronics[/ame] I then just vampire tapped into the end of the wires coming off this harness. As for the deck connections, I'm running all of the stock/aftermarket speakers off the deck using an adaptor and the factory harness . I'm only running my subs off an AMP that I've mounted in the trunk. |
3 Fresh runs/side of 14g to the fronts, rear speakers removed.

I ran all new.
To get it through the door I just un hooked the rubber boot and fished it through. sometimes a metal close hanger can be used if needed but I didn't have to go that far. |

Fish the hanger through, tape your wires to the end, lube it up with some spit and pull it through. |

Yep, just take your time so you dont get frustrated or mess up the boot. I usually unhook both sides, then start from inside the car. Stick in through the body then pull slack, pull it through the boot, then pull it through the door hole. Then reattach the boot to both sides. |
yea getting it from under the dash out was pretty easy. The boot took longer to get hooked back up then fish.
I thought this car was relatively easy, but then again that's comparing it to a 2004 monte carlo or running cat5e though and old remodeled hospital that had half of it hit by a tornado and rebuilt lol. |
