Garage Pics

I'm getting ready to start upgrading the garage and looking for some inspiration. Post up pics of the garage or man cave!

I forgot to add to put extra, extra strength, triple reinforced glass if you go with this setup.

Unf just a 20x20 standard garage. Getting ready to put the floor coating down and have the Craftsman tool bench and red/black industrial cabinets to go in.

Definitely has to be car themed and have racing stuff in it.

I like the red and black look. I'm thinking about the checkered floor look.

Thanks for the mention, LSxJunkie!

Cjm005, I'll second the recommendation for visiting garagejournal.com.

I think those Craftsman boxes have a cool look. I used to have some, and painted one of my benches to match -- then replaced the Craftsman stack but still painted the newer cabinet to match what had been there. So in my green garage, I've got one corner that looks like this:

http://imageshack.us/a/img62/5093/redbench.jpg

In your shoes, I'd maybe give the checkerboard idea some more thought. Especially if you're planning on doing much work in the shop. It's not a pattern that's easy on the eyes (the flooring equivalent of a strobe light, in some ways), and it can also get kind of irritating when you set tools out on it or drop small parts. Still, I know there's a kind of visual history to it. But I went for something that reflected light and was consistent enough that I could find a nut when it rolled away from me.

Wow, what a difference.... Started putting the work bench and floor cabinet together. Will put up some pics later.

Man cave has started... Has to be a worthy home for the Boss and FRS.

WeatherTech has what's known as TechFloor. I never used Race Deck or TechFloor but I'm interested to update my garage even if it's small because I want to turn into a work facility. Basement isn't cutting it.

My uncles uses something similar, and he loves it. I found out that it's easier on your feet. Standing on it is much more comfortable then standing on concrete.

srtblake 01-07-2013 09:07 PM

what happens if moisture gets under those garage floor squares?

Here is a better pic of my garage, the FR-S is at dynotronics getting tuned so my garage is currently invaded with euros. The floor is epoxy, my garage doors are insulated as well as sealed and there is a mini slit ac/heater that works as a dehumidifier to keep moisture out as well. My next step will be a 4 post lift on the left bay so i can fit 4 cars followed by a TV to watch some best motoring videos while working on the car :)

One of our early locations, before the lift, floor, and walls were done. Circa 2005:

Eventually it was turned into this:

Then came the move in with At Speed Motorsports. They had lots of eye candy around those days:

We moved on from sharing space with them and are now in our own nice little spot. This is where we are now.

Oooh, wood flooring is great looking.

Until you drop a tranny on it.

Some really great garages but, I always see these clean garages and then think of how it would look had you let me do some bodywork in them.

mweidner311 04-02-2015 02:43 PM

Figured I'd add my photos as well proud of how well the floor turned out. Vinyl tiles done about two years ago and are holding up nicely. Coated them with about 4 coats of sealer and 2 coats of finish.

Not a whole lot done yet, making the best of my tiny garage. Shelving installed on far wall since this pic, now I just need to kick the girlfriend's car out.
