Where to buy Whiteline Camber Bolts
need to buy a set asap

Or just get some SPC bolts from your local parts store for $40 less.

go to rockauto and buy camber bolts for whatever subaru you want. Or tougetuning has them for pretty cheap.

I'm pretty sure it would work, Eibach and SPC share the same parts on some camber kits i know the Eibach camber kit for my TSX was the same as the SPC kit.

14mm would go in the lower hole.
No problems getting the tabbed washer completely perpendicular to the strut with the 16mm bolts? I was slightly concerned that the hole on the flange side of the strut would be 16mm but the hole on the nut side would be 14mm, in which case the aftermarket bolt wouldn't work quite right. |
I carry the Whiteline bolts. Whiteline lists the KCA414 as the fitment for the car. I have them in stock. KCA416's are special order, but I can get those too. Personally I don't use them as between the adjustment in my KW's and the C-com offset upper mounts I have, I have no need for the camber bolts (which is why I have them in stock, I bought them "just in case").

My understanding was that the top bolt is 16mm but you can use a 14mm straight bolt in its place and the play that you get is your camber adjustment. I believe this is what's outlined for factory-style alignment.
The eccentric bolt (16mm I think) would go in the lower hole. Correct me if I'm wrong, I seem to hear conflicting reports on this. |
Top hole is 16mm and bottom hole is 14mm.
I am just using Subaru 14mm crash bolts on the 16mm top hole, so gaining camber by the smaller bolt having room in the larger hole. From looking at eccentric camber bolt pics, it seems the "lobe" would probably be 16mm (max that can fit the top hole) and the "shaft" would be something smaller like 14mm? I would think that allows greater adjustment than the 14mm straight crash bolts, since you not only gain camber from the smaller bolt in the larger hole like the crash bolts, but also have the lobe part to push the hub even more inward. |
sorry, both bolts upper and lower are the same, and the correct application regardless of what ever may be listed is the KCA416, it goes in the upper hole.
You do NOT take out a shouldered 16MM bolt and replace it witha loose fitting 14mm, not on my car. you DO take the 16mm andreplace it with a KCA416 Its your car and your safety.. |

I just got my 16mm camber bolts installed today. I ordered them off nissanraceshop.com. excellent service. They had overcharged me by accident and i didnt even know it until they called me to tell me. they refunded the extra charge and overnighted the bolts to me! i would recommend them!

Update:
I now have better info and need to update the info I gave out in my first post right above this one.
I took out both the upper and lower bolts and inspected them and the hole they came out of. Both holes are round and not slotted as I thought they might be based on prior experience with other manufacturers. Since they are round, Any bolt with a lobe that makes the bolt larger than the size of the hole will not fit. The bolts are definitely not the same as someone posted earlier. The lower bolt is straight and is 14 mm. The upper bolt is both 14 & 16 mm. The first inch or so is 16 mm and then tapers to 14 mm. The upper hole is 16 mm all the way through so the bolt only makes contact with the hole for the first half, then it's in the air for the other half. Anyone knows that a chain is no stronger than it's weakest link. That being the case, the bolt isn't much if any stronger than a straight 14 MM bolt in my opinion. If it were to break, (very unlikely) it would fail at the point that it tapers down to 14 MM. After seeing this, I have changed my opinion and now think that the 14 mm bolt is nearly the equal in strength and should be no safety issue. Don't sue me, It's just my opinion but I would have no qualms about driving with it. There is simply no way with out running you car in to a stationary object to snap this bolt if torqued properly. I don't care what kind of sticky tires you have, you can't generate enough load to break these bolts. Still, adjusting camber with a 14 mm bolt in there will be trial & error until you get lucky and arrive at what you are looking for. I'd still recommend a 16 mm adjustable camber bolt but it needs to be one designed for a round hole. You can find them at the amazon link above and I'm sure many other outlets. Hope this helps. |
