Wheel Directory: Rota T2R 18x9.5 +38
http://www.darrendriven.com/ft86/title.png
Here is my 86...... sits on Rota T2R Hyper Black..... 18 inch 9.5j with 38 offset all round... 225 front and 235 rear tyres.... lots of room up front and at the back still... thinking about running spacers even... Running on BC-BR's - front is about 100mm drop what you guys think?... back on max.. front must still come down another 8mm or so... http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...psaf3c8772.jpg |
looks really good... although it may just be the picture... but the front wheels look like a different offset, like they stick out more
Offset the same.... Just tyre size hey.........
Quote:
you have to run lower offset out back for it to be square |
Or run more camber... Haha.... Yea, as I said, spacer out back.... Should have got 23 offset.... Next time I guess... But hey, probably the first in SA... These guys here are all about warranty.......... I'll put up some more pics when the front is lower.....
how does the car feel now that you have increased the rear width by at least 2"?
Car feels very stable.... its more the front that has improved 10 fold... Even better response off the front... the tyre width and more camber makes turn in that much better, and understeer issues seem to be gone..... Our local circuit time when the car was stock(with 200km on it), i did a 1.18.6...... in my 350z which handles like a beast did a best of 1.15.4.... so im impressed.... I see the suspension set up now getting me to 1.16's......

@Japspec looking sweet bro... where did u get ur wheels from? - Durban has no wheel selection for the 86 which is ultra annoying. How much did u pay for ur BC - BR series coil overs? where did u purchase it from? How do u find the ride? lol Sorry for the 101 questions but here in SA moded 86z are very scarce. cheers
@Hellboy...when I was in the market for wheels I found a company in Cpt that sells rota (www.kaihatsu.co.za).
I also have BC-BR's on my 86 you can contact BC Racing South Africa...they will organize a set delivered to you...you looking around R9.5k (currency dependent) My perspective the ride is slightly more stiffer than stock even when set 2 clicks from soft but well worth it in terms of looks factor...I didnt like the 4x4 look. These are my findings and Japspec is welcome to correct. :w00t: |
@ CREWZERN thanx buddy bt that site seems not to be workn??? Fair price but im thought i saw it cheaper on the last speed n sound edition - suspension reviews? my main Question is will ur warranty be voided because off the after market suspension? yep car lowered on 18z look boss. I wana go with a dish style rim myb a works miester? What is the spring rating on ur bc coilovers?
@Japspec: Where in SA are you, I'm keen to seen the wheel fitment in person. My car is currently on order and I need to make a decision on the wheels...
hey there all.... im in the eastern cape, PE to be exact.... got the first 86 in Eastern Cape and first set of BC's in the country... hahah.. also ordered the wheels before i took delivery....
If you looking for the wheels or the suspension, i am an agent here..... As for the ride, even on the low setting it doesnt touch on speed bumps.... way higher now even than my 350 with 30mm eibach springs.... If you use to a stiff ride, the car is no different than a drop kit... As for aesthetics, it does wonders..... IN the speed and sound that would have been a price for V1 coilovers... they are not made currently for the 86, only the BC-BR range... Price is around 9000 or so but must double check... thats excluding delivery... They come through cape town area so if you around there... sending it to you is cheap....... |
extreme-86.... who and where you from.... i see you have a 200sx....
@Japspec , spoke to BC racing SA the price for the BR series coilovers R9200 and shipment to Durbs around R350 not bad at all coz i see the US selling the BR series at $945. Im thinkn 18" rota - d2 or the p45 r2, what u thinkn ?
Hellboy... Just check if they come in 5-100 pcd.. Rota grid's do though.. Stock available last time I checked was 9.5j max for 5-100..... Matt bronze was available to order hey..... BC can do to Durban for 9200 delivered hey...
@Japspec R9200 delivered sounds:thumbup:.. i see rota SA have the gtr-D rims what width can we go on the 86? will 9.5j fit in the front and back without any issues?:iono:

I have 9.5j....38 offset. No touching at all.. That's with. 225 up front and 235 rear... 23 offset would be ideal out back......
@Japspec , BRO CAN U POST SUM PICS OF UR RIDE ? @KILBEE IM GNA TRY FOR ROTA GTR-D OR D2 BUT I HOPE THEY HAVE THEM IN 5X100
looking good, I'm going to do T2R's soon on ours as well
@wheel dude, nice choice-what colour rim do u have in mind? I want a dish for my car but thats gna kill performance big tym lol.
Guys i cant seem to find the Rota gtr-D IN 5X100...:mad0259:, CAN ANY1 CONFIRM ???? seems like they have them in 5x114.
thanks wheeldude... i wanted black and they sent hyper black..... not to bad..... Go 23 offset...........will be perfect, but you have a warehouse full of options... hahaha.........
hellboy...... no rota gtr-d in 5-100 hey....... sorry...... |
Some pics when i just fitted the wheels.... 75mm drop still......
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps0db09c10.jpg http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps826a34ab.jpg http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...psac9c6a87.jpg |
@JAPSEC bro ur car is sweet .. well the closest to those gtr-d rims i can find are rota p45-r2 they also have a dish, 5x100 think 9.5j with 35 or 25 offset which would be the better option? after i fet the coilovers and lower the suspension im not gona roller the arches:thumbdown:, so which offset can accomidate for that? By any chance Japspec could u find the price on these rims coz rota sa and kaihtsu dont stock them:search:.. Thanx buddy
Somehow these 18 inch wheels manage to fill out the arches and look "proper" where as some of the other cars with 18" wheels don't look much different to stock sizing.
18" tyres are also better priced than 19"...so leads me to consider a suitable 18" @Japspec: In the pics the white looks like a plain white as oposed to the Pearl that it actually is.. |
Added to the Wheel Directory:
http://tinyurl.com/86wheels |
@Darren uhmm so according to the fitment chart 18" with 9.5j and 35 offset are safe fitment is that on stock suspension?
so the best offset for a flush look is +23 rear and +38 front?
