Cars and Copters - September 16, 2012
 

I plan on going to Cars and Copters this year. It's going to be my first time so I have no idea what to expect. As long as the weather holds up and how I feel about the Pats game might change my decision. Anyone else plan on going?

Cars and Copters is a great event! My friends and I have gone the past two years and the turnout is always solid, with a very diverse gathering of cars, and helicopters, too! I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned on here yet. I hope you can all make it; I will be there in the MR2 for sure!

I'm still 50/50 on this.

This might be fun. Should be going to get my detail and Opti-Coat on Saturday so it'll look FRESH. (aside from the 4 hours of driving in between)

Exotics, classics, JDM, Euro, muscle cars, motorcycles, helicopters. What's not to like?

Absolutely nothing, I just might or might not be able to make it. Mainly depends if I need to catch up with work.

Same...I was psyched just to see cars but workload just dumped on my plans.

Wait, cars... and helicopters?! Those are pretty much my two favorite things!

We should really start our own meets that combine some of our favorite things. I mean there's Cars and Coffee, Cars and Copters, which are great in their own right. Why not a Cars and...Cleavage, Cars and Bacon?

Lol sorry, I've gone all summer without a valid sport to watch (the Red Sux no longer count as a sport), and the Patriots are my savior. Sundays are football days. Otherwise I'd definitely be down.

Ugh, I don't think I can make it anymore. My CEL light turned on last night, i'll know more information later today.

That's not a CEL, it's your VTEC indicator.

How many miles?

Almost 1500 miles. The car sounded fine. I only had a power reduction and it was awful!

The show is first thing in the morning; it's over by 11am at the latest. Plenty of time to catch the game!

OK I really don't find that picture as funny as you seem to. I've seen it posted like 3 times now.

Can you explain exactly what happened, because I may be having something similar at 6K.

I will be going to the show Sunday and hope to see some more FR-S/BRZ drivers there

Not to derail my own thread, but I actually didn't really hear any strange engine noises when the light came on. I definitely felt a loss in power and didn't think any of it until I looked at my dash and saw the lights. I didn't have any funky smells or any other lights. It was both the CEL and the traction lights and they were a solid ON. And the loss in power... it took a while to get to 4k RPM, I could feel the engine 'trying' to get there (slowly). My CEL was quite uneventful actually compared to the other horror stories on here.

I will be at the show!!! My fiance helps to organize this event every year. It has a great turn out and all the money is donated to the Jimmy Fund. Donations can be made when you pull in, you can take a copter ride or bid on silent auction items.

I will be bringing my whiteoutFRS. Hope to see some others there!

Looks like I'm going to this, my car is going to be on display at the Kaizen Tuning booth during the event.

I have so much car cleaning to do before Sunday, ahhhhh!! Looks like I'm giving up my Saturday night to detail my car, like a cool kid :cool:


I would recommend that you all try to get there early, because there are estimated to be between 1300-1500 cars and approx. 2-3,000 people there! And the airport isn't that big, lol!

Didn't think I'd be able to swing it, but I will be there as well ! Can't wait to hopefully meet some of you ! :happy0180:

Anyone driving from the cape cod area? I'll be meeting a friend up at the dunkin donuts off the sagamore bridge at 9:30am and crusing to the show if anyone wants to join.

Great show! Saw a few 86's but didn't meet any owners. Also saw your MR2 ^^^ looks good!

I was there with my filthy BRZ....I'm amazed no one commented on my car :lol:

Wow, lol! Was yours the one on Eibach springs but otherwise stock? I saw 2 SWP and 2 WRB BRZ's, and a Whiteout and Hot Lava FR-S.

I wish I had gotten my work down faster so I could have been down there much earlier. It was a good turn out though that had a good mix of cars.
