FA20CLUB.com Stage 1 ECUTEK Reflash Results

Put a kick in the pants for your new daily.....FA20 Club is proud
to release our much anticipated Stage 1 Reflash. This flash develops an increase in TQ and HP throughout the entire powerband. Your vehicle will now be more of what you expected when you signed the papers at the dealership. Some of the features we have enchanced in this tune include:

Increased TQ Limits
Adjusted overall AFR Mixture
Optimized Timing
Optimized Cam Angles
Added 2Step Launch Control
Increased REV Limit
Speed Governor Removed
DTCs for Common Check Lights Removed

With just these minor adjustments to your ecu you are able to gain power without sacrificing the integrity of the original product you purchased. Not to mention the nice over peak gains of 10-13whp. Even on AT transmissions. With purchase of the retail cable we will provide updates to the original purchaser.

FYI: Mustang Dyno numbers are typically 10-11% lower than DynoJet numbers. So our baseline on the A/T FRS would be roughly 154HP to a typical gain of 167HP for comparison to other available products.

We will be continuing to work closely with the community on the forth coming improvements to the EcuTek lineup of features.

Price?

Where are you located?

FA20Club.com 08-25-2012 12:04 PM

Ft Lauderdale Area....Where in Miami are you located. i might swing down there to the DT tuesday meet once we finish the turbo kit week after this upcoming week.

Calum 08-25-2012 12:23 PM

I went to the fa20club.com web site... what are you playing at, that site had NOTHING to do with EcuTek or even cars?

I would happily welcome more competition is this segment, but when you post a website that isn't yours, I get very suspicious.

I live about 5 minutes from DT. Let us know when you are going to the meet, I want to see that Turbo Kit! There is a Southeast section on the forum with several Miami/SoFLA threads. You can post more info there. Also, I would recommend a build thread about your turbo kit in here. Those are VERY popular.

Hope to see your car soon!

Fair enough. :) Thanks for the honest reply.

I don't even have a face book account to be able to look at the face book page, let alone any web design experience.

How much more rpm were you able to squeeze out?

Laika 08-25-2012 12:48 PM

Does this tune make the torque dip even worse or is it just me?

UncleFester 08-25-2012 12:51 PM

Two step on an Auto? Or does some of the manuals also have a "P"ark gear?

ST185RC 08-25-2012 12:52 PM

Looks like the torque dip widened.... :/

Actually the dip was lessened and it motor also recover from the power loss earlier in the run to the high values. There was only one area in the entire dip that the values were reversed and i found it was related more to the TQ limit table. But since its an A/T i wont want to increase the limits that much on the low end where the transmission shifts without some more testing on the actual affects to the shifting as far as smoothness is concerned. On a manual i dont see that happening since with some spirited driving the shift points would vary more towards the upper end of the spectrum anyway.

When this is finalized, I would like to see it. Id drive down to FtL to check out the tune and maybe get it done if I like it :)

I didn't think anyone in Florida was doing much with this platform

7750rpm is the current limiter for now. Once we find ways to flatten the upper band to actually have a reason to rev high i've deiced to leave it there for now.

Honestly the only other testing we will be doing for a bit is on a Manual. I want to see how this tune carries over. Not to mention the car is apart waiting of the turbo to arrive Monday barring hurricane Isaac.

Pricing is posted in our thread in the vendor section.

The HP "dip" hasn't been fixed either. It's been made a little less linear than it was stock all for an extra ~4whp from ~4k-7k....I'd be able to give a better response about the rev range if the full dyno sheet was posted.

I'd love to see what the manual tune will look like. Looks like it has potential but I don't think all the work is done here. IMHO I don't see $600 of benefit unless you only drive at the very top of the rev range all the time.

FA20Club.com 08-25-2012 02:25 PM

Things will vary on the display for the graph. I dont use much smoothing when tuning since that minimizes the amount of dip i can see. I want to see the dips for tuning purposes since this relays a lot of info such as misfire/detonation etc but for a sales standpoint its not that pretty. Here is another image with the smoothing increased some that shows there is significant gains down low. Also the break points on the graph play a large roll in the amount of separation you see in the graphs. I have made it a bit easier to read now with those more familiar with dynojet graphs

Well at this point for a manual transmission vehicle you would be able to set the rpm you launch the car from a dead stop to minimize wheel spin and for more consistent results while drag racing. Basically you hold the clutch pedal fully depressed and you can simultaneously floor the gas pedal and the rpms will stop at the preset rpms until the clutch is release and the vehicle passes roughly 3-5mph.:burnrubber:
