LF: a good auto shop in the GTA area
Looking for a good shop that knows how to do a clutch job on the FRS
Edit: found one thanks to Vilanous_frx it’s XIII Motorsport. |
XIII Motorsport, NV Auto, Apex Auto.
If you want to venture to London... Rob Clarke Automotive and Ron's Quality Auto are both great shops that I have used. |

Rent a transmission jack for $20/day if you are having problems. Make sure your alignment tool centered the clutch well. Rotate the output shaft slightly using the driveshaft to get the splines to line up well. Use the bolts to help pull the transmission to the motor, but it will only pop into position when the spines are perfectly aligned, so a transmission jack and twisting the driveshaft while in gear really helps.

It is odd to snap a bolt putting it back together when it was never really apart completely, so I think that is why it didn't register correctly in my brain. |
LF: a mechanic that can do a clutch job and remove broken starter bolt

posts are maintained so there's a database of past questions so when some other poor soul in the same scenario starts searching for answers, your previous question ever so kindly helps them out without ever needing to repeat the same question again! unless of course the OP decides to edit their post so it's of no use to anyone else ever again. nuking things might work for ADHD facebook and instagram, but the rest of the internet thrives off building on others past experience. it's also how and why everyone wants to go to college, which is also coincidently built on the concept of fast-tracking feeding previous humans knowledge into individuals to make those individuals become what most define as 'intelligent'. |

I didn’t think it would’ve been useful to keep the post up but you’re right. I updated the post. It’s not the same as the original post but it’s close enough, good call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So sorry to jump in on this one. Is there anyone around the 404/401 area that is a strong recommendation?

Unfortunately with my car on four jack stands the unit would lower the tranny but not enough to clear the cars bellypan. The car should have been a couple inches higher. We ended up lowering the jack and muscling the tranny off the jack onto the ground and dragging it out out from under the car. To re-install we just put the tranny on a mat and dragged it back under the car where two of us lifted it into position with some massive rocking effort to get it up against the bell housing. |

Similar to how I did mine. I balanced it on a regular floor jack, held on to it and raised it up a bit. Then lifted it into position. |
I don't even use cardboard. Just bench press it.
