17x9 that checks all the boxes?
I’ve been looking for a wheel that checks all the boxes and was hoping the collective wisdom of the forum would help me with any wheels I’ve missed.
Here’s what I’m looking for: 17x9 Clears Stoptech ST40 calipers with 328x28mm rotors (similar in size to OEM Brembos) 20lbs or less Offset range of +38 to +42 Max of about $325/wheel Readily available in a silver, charcoal, gunmetal, silver or similar finish (because my car is black) Replacements somewhat easy to source So far I’ve found: Apex ARC8 ~ $240-$260/wheel 17.8lbs https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e94288f4c4.jpg Enkei PF05 ~ $315-$360/wheel 20 lbs as best as I can tell https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b4efba2423.jpg SSR GTX01 (unknown brake clearance) ~ $350/wheel (center caps are extra $) 19lbs as best as I can tell https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6159960402.jpg Mach V Awesome $250/wheel 18lbs https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...69da63ffe9.jpg Rays 57CR (unknown brake clearance) ~ $320-$360+ (center caps are extra $) About 19lbs as best as I can tell HS Gunmetallic color is fairly hard to find https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...15bf733407.jpg Anyone know of anything else? Edit: I’m aware of 949 Racing 6UL and Konig but just don’t personally like the looks of them. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

hear me out.
I had Rota Titans. cleared my RR Racing stage 2 kit with Wilwood BBK. Used on the track, and great fitment with 255's |

I hear you. From what I’ve researched the early stigma against Rota wheels has largely dissipated. They look a lot like the Wedsport TC105N. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m open to all options that fit my list. Just want to learn about what’s out there.

Thanks. I updated the first post about that wheel. Just don’t like the looks too much. And when 949 confirmed that they are out of production, I took them off the lost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks. But I haven’t been able to find the 57DR in silver or gray?

57CR in HS Gunmetallic was an 86Speed color I believe, though I think by now other storefronts stock it (e.g. Kamispeed)

Thanks. I really like that style. But it’s out of stock everywhere I’ve checked and prices are $360+. Plus, no one has been able to confirm it will fit with the brake setup I have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I am going to say it again. The 57DR CLEARS, so the 57CR should as well. If you want to double check this call a dealer that has both in stock in the same size and ask them how similar they are, as far as I can tell they are very similar and could even be same mold. The DR clears the ST40's by a lot, almsot 3/4's of an inch.

I just bought a set of the ARC-8. Every color except silver seems to be on backorder from the manufacturer, just an FYI. Best looking wheel in my opinion

You’re right, race silver is the only one in stock. I called them and spoke to Ryan. Super nice guy, and it’s nice to be able to actually get to speak to someone rather than email only like some companies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Anyone else have feedback?

One unique thing about Apex is they've got a lifetime warranty that covers track use. I've never had to use it, but it's nice knowing it's there. Apex is pretty well respected in the BMW track community so they've got some history behind them. |
Thanks, DarkSunrise. Yes, the replacement wheel for $150 is a great feature. Your review echoes my friend’s, who has a BMW. He loves his ARC8s.

Are you sure Titans are lighter than RPF1s? A quick google search says Titan 17x9 is 17.8 lbs and RPF1 17x9 is 15.9 lbs. |

They are not, one of our members here weighed them on his YouTube channel at ~18.5llb for a 17x9 +42et. That still isn't bad for a knock off design but it represents a 2.5lb gain over the original. |
Appreciate everyone’s input so far. The ARC8 appears to be the best combination, but still curious if anyone has any other ideas or contributions?

Apex is releasing some new models in the near future, might be worth waiting to see what they release.
My only issue with the ARC8s is strut clearance. With the Sachs dampers and Continental DWS06 245/40/17 there is barely 5mm of clearance. I had to use camber plates to get negative camber up front. If you are on coilovers you should have plenty of space to use bolts if you need them. |

You’re right. Thank you. I’ve already emailed and spoke with them about what’s coming. Among what’s coming are forged wheels, which are just out of my budget.
I noticed the same clearance issue with Koni struts and have since switched to RCE T2s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
hypergrams 17x9 +40 clear st40 calipers with about an inch of clearance. they also weigh in lighter than the arcs at 17.5 and are easy to order replacements online or at any discount tire.

Thanks for the recommendation on the Konig wheels. I personally prefer the styling of the ARC8, but you’re right that the Konig checks all the boxes.
