had my frs for two weeks..this is what happens

http://i1146.photobucket.com/albums/...07339597_n.jpg

happened on Sunday on the way to Huntington beach for the US Open. Bumper to bumper traffic and some idiot who "was distracted by the beach" wasn't paying attention and rear ended me, causing my frs to fly forward and rear and the back a jeep and its spare tire. Good thing all parties involved have insurance and i'm not paying a dime..but it still sucks to only own this car for two weeks and this happens! :iono::(:mad0260: Hoping theres no internal damage

StevenEngage 07-31-2012 12:52 AM

D*mn, that sucks man. if the hit was that hard I am assuming the back is pretty bad also? I would think the insurance company might just write it off and you'll get a new one (again lol)

636 07-31-2012 01:04 AM

This makes me sad.

FT-86GOD 07-31-2012 01:08 AM

second hand parts

Blackforge 07-31-2012 01:12 AM

The Jeeps! They're out to get us from all sides!

reeves 07-31-2012 01:15 AM

If the Insurance company doesn't write it off, make sure you insist on 100% OEM parts to repair your car with!

Good luck with this!

Wes 07-31-2012 01:17 AM

that sucks, hope u can get a new one. i was debating whether to take mine to the US surf open today, but decided not to..

tnt 07-31-2012 01:19 AM

that suks

Rampage 07-31-2012 01:27 AM

That is sad. I think I have heard about 8 or 9 that have been crashed or involved in accidents so far. That is only the ones we hear about on here.

dori. 07-31-2012 01:31 AM

that totally sucks and I agree you should be able to get a new one...

edit: the only positive thing about these accidents is that from seeing how the car crumples you can tell the cockpit is safe

Guff 07-31-2012 01:32 AM

I think the folks at Hyundai put a curse on us or something...

Sad to hear about this, but I hope you come out on top and get back to carving up canyons soon!

Trojan_SC 07-31-2012 01:35 AM

Damn bro that sucks. Sorry for your loss. Hope it all gets taken care of.

wallace03 07-31-2012 01:36 AM

seems like very few accidents very actually caused by the frs/brz owners. i might keep mine in the garage for a few weeks just to weather the storm:scared0016:

FrX 07-31-2012 01:40 AM

Ouch! Remind me of what happened to my RSX. Some dude was not paying attention and shortened the car about a foot and a half. Have been super paranoid about cars driving behind me ever since that happened. Hope insurance takes care of you!

Mitch 07-31-2012 01:43 AM

Glad you weren't at fault. Demand stock replacement and a rental in the mean time. And burn the person who hit you's house down. Okay, not that, but get that car up and running fast on their dime ASAP!

serialk11r 07-31-2012 01:48 AM

noooo the pretty aluminum hood :(

eriktherod 07-31-2012 02:30 AM

86design 07-31-2012 02:34 AM

I'm scared to go out now..:scared0016:

DrSteezey 07-31-2012 02:36 AM

dang that sucks. sorry man. the driver probably felt like an incompetent fool knowing that you have only had the car for 2 weeks and it was his fault your car got wrecked.

hopefully the insurance will right it off and get you a brand new one.

Moshpit37 07-31-2012 02:54 AM

I always pay close attention to my rear view mirror when coming up to intersections and/or traffic. As small as the car is I always worry about not being seen by those around me. Stuff like this just confirms my paranoia. Sorry for your loss.

dnL 07-31-2012 02:55 AM

On the plus side, the angle of the hood in relation to the sun really brings out the beauty of Ultramarine.

GNS 07-31-2012 03:39 AM

I'm curious as to the flavor of that tasty, tasty looking sports drink on the windshield.

noAE86 07-31-2012 04:47 AM

oh man that sux, i feel for you, such a nice colour too

get the insurance company inspector to look at the front chassis rails under the front fenders, thats where the crumple zone will be, (they look like triangular and tictac shaped indents, they are designed to bend and deform there, if this happens the chance of fixing this car to 100% is ni impossible, and future wheel alignments will be a pita.

get then to buy you a new car,

ft86's like it in the bumbum:brokenheart:

lordgrover 07-31-2012 05:03 AM

At least no one was hurt.
A bit of a pisser though, hope you're properly sorted as soon as...

lokvo 07-31-2012 05:29 AM

man everytime an FRS/GT86 is trashed, baby jesus cries. I would've gone totally ape sh!t at the dude who stopped/slowed down for no reason and also at the dude who rear ended me. I'd be throwing the most epic tantrum, rolling around on the other peoples car hoods and flailing my arms! that'll show em.

nix 07-31-2012 06:54 AM

This car wrecked still looks better than most. :D

denverizzles 07-31-2012 07:33 AM

yeah...that looks like a five axis kit is on the way lol

White64Goat 07-31-2012 08:12 AM

In Florida they teach you in drivers ed (the kind you take AFTER an accident) that you should be able to see the rear tires on the ground of the car in front of you when you come to a stoplight/stopsign. I guess there are so many non-drivers and old folks down there that rear-enders are much more common place. My brother-in-law informed of that after I pulled up to my normal Md. stopping distance of about 3 feet.

5-10 is enough to push a car a few feet if it's a ton heavier. Especially if he was just on the breaks enough to have it stopped on level ground.

No pictures if the rear of the car, awfully suspicious...

Good luck with this!

With this being a new model, there will be nothing other then oem, on the downside parts may take a while. Glad you are ok.
