To those who rebadged as a toyota..

I apologize if this has been asked already but I was thinking about rebadging my fr-s with toyota badges and was curious, what toyota badges will fit (i know there are prongs on the back of the scion badge)?

Is there a badge from specific toyota make/model/year that will fit?

To those that have rebadged as a toyota, where did you get your toyota badges from?

Thanks

Use the search button... Ull find a whole thread on it.........

86_ZN6 07-08-2012 11:55 PM

No other toyota badges will fit.

Only toyota 86 or gt86.

Most of us bought it from carson toyota for $65 shipped

He is a board member/vendor here

SpecPer 07-11-2012 12:31 AM

we have them in stock.

My dealership has said they can get me the badges and wheel center caps but I'm still trying to get pretty much everything from my Scion to Toyota conversion list thread. Their parts department is, well, I'm just going to say there are issues trying to get the parts.

This is not true the Rear Avalaon badge and the Rear Corolla bade from the 2012 models are the EXACT same size and dimension of the GT86 ones. This has been confirmed in several threads and I have bought my own set and compared to my friends GT86 ones. Bought mine for 30 bucks from the Toyota dealership.

lantsalot 01-24-2013 04:31 PM

Personally, I ordered mine from ft86speedfactory.com. They were like $35, came with the adhesive already on just had to peel away some film and plop on there.

Do the prongs line up correctly?

But if your already ordering other stuff on ft86speed other then just the emblems not sure if 2.63 $ is worth for different shipment ...

Thanks for the site :) bookmarked it

I want to rebadge but the scion badge on the steering wheel makes it seem pointless.

Yes, they do. It's an exact fit.

Here's the thread from the DIY section,

65 is overpriced :bellyroll:. I paid $35 at ft86speedfactory

Put a Lexus badge on it instead. Toyota badge = cheap appliance car.

tbwoodlee 01-24-2013 07:11 PM

This is where I got my emblems, they are perfect fit.
http://ft86speedfactory.com/frs-gt86...04e1f3917cdcae

I got my GT86 badge from nigel-jdmparts which has no pins, it sticks with double sided tape, which is included.

You can rebadge that as well. I followed this DIY for the steering wheel rebadge
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=airbag+emblem
You can see my results with the DIY on the second page

I have the toyota wheel caps, and trunk liner as well. There is zero trace of scion in my vehicle now.

I considered that, along with the rear bumper application and the Scion centercaps on the wheels. But to be honest, unless looking for those things, when you look at the car the toyota badges still look amazing (and much better in my opinion). But depends on your level of OCD.

The rear bumper is a vinyl sticker that can be peeled off.

dun3 01-24-2013 07:20 PM

Ebay, $15 shipped for both

I'm hoping it would be possible for someone to fabricate a jdm looking outside piece, instead of having to replace the whole airbag.

Cade01 01-24-2013 07:45 PM

Just to clear things up the confusion the badges that fit are: Corolla Part# 90975-A2003 and Avalon Part# 90975-02069

They are cheaper than the JDM badges and look the same.

I have to ask, but besides looking the same aren't the probably exactly the same? Does Toyota source the parts differently somehow?

Not sure, if someone who has the JDM ones would post the part #s we could find out pretty easy. I'm going to guess for some reason Toyota uses different part #s

Want to let you know the TRD steering wheel is out in Japan and it doesn't have the Scion emblem on it. It is decently expensive but will give you a OEM like wheel with no emblem. So change those badges there is hope! Or you can follow the DIY for swapping in another badge on the wheel, but I don't like ****ing around airbags for anything. :)

Yes. Dead on! Check out that thread linked above to get the exact part numbers for the parts department because if they look up 2012 Avalon rear badge it will show like three of them and they will need a part number to narrow it down.

Yea, but it'd rather leave it there to protect the paint for as long as possible.

Haha I must be the only person in the world who thinks the Scion badge looks better than the Toyota one:

I agree! If you ignore the historic relevance, I think the Scion logo looks so much cooler.

FR-S Matt 01-25-2013 03:42 PM

So if you change your badges, does it add 10 hp every time to change one to a Toyota badge?

Still don't understand the badging.... Scion = Toyota. If someone asks, just tell them it's a branch of Toyota. A free 3 second sentence. Telling them it's a Toyobaru will cause brain overload.

Good point although different part number doesn't necessarily mean different part.

I'm on the Scion badge side of the looks as well. My only problem is I don't like the chrome and haven't seen a good option for blacking them out. I think the look bad with the letters also blacked out, so I may try to do a blacked out with color matched letters. Just can't decide.

I'm also not crazy about forcing the front one off. I just know I'll be the one person where the bumper cover gives way before the badge pins.

Why add those lights you added and the other cosmetic mods on your car, they don't add HP or performance?!?! This is a cosmetic mod thread, maybe you should look up the word cosmetic? Let people do what they want and leave the judgement at the door.
