Would it be tacky to swap Scion badges to Toyota? is it easily done?

Since Scion is going away, I'm wondering if it would look bad to swap badges and go Toyota. Would the badges match up ok or the fit would never be right? Thanks for any insight..

LOL I know what you were expecting but not gonna happen this time. OP did a nice introduction and participated in a couple of threads before asking the silly question. Makes a difference in my eyes.

Dude (well now that user name is going to be confusing) the swap to Toyota badges is easy and relatively cheap. You can get all your info here - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25659

But... Why swap? Scions will never be rare or raise in value because of the badging but a few years down the road a Scion badged car will be more unique and stand out in the crowd. With time much of the Scion stigma seen in some places will fade and they will be accepted again.

CatScan 03-30-2016 09:31 AM

There are a number of threads on it already. Yeah, they will fit, but now that the FR-S is wearing a Toyota badge, badge-swappers look double-secret-stupid. What's wrong with a Scion badge now that there wont be any new ones?

I wouldn't call a dollar discount "wicked deal".

But then again, I am Asian...

Summerwolf 03-30-2016 09:45 AM

Man, that google search engine must be overheated today.

My beef is not so much the silly questions it is the people that seem to think we are some automated question answering machine and don't think of us as people but just a very specific form of Google. These are the guys who's very first question is "I want louder for cheap what should I do?".

The metal tile one is just Lup being Lup and I am used to his silly questions.

I get them at cost cuz the parts guy is a car guy :D

Romanov 03-30-2016 10:39 AM

Front bumper swap with a 2017 seems pretty much your only option. Is Google down right now?

hahahaha With my exhaust my car makes the bop bop bop sound and it could pass as a V8 for any non car people

In all honesty I want to spend 15 grand building the engine and going FI then putting 2.0L badges on it somewhere, That will also mess with people hahaha!

CatScan 03-30-2016 10:43 AM

Don't forget the stick-on side vents. Six per side should impress.

Yes, they match up with no problems :)
Everything lines up, just make sure to get the correct badge sizes. ft86speedfactory.com has the correct ones for our cars from Japan.

Tacky is subjective, it looks better the way it should've come to US and NA though
