What did you pay for your car?

I'm going to go test driving and maybe start negotiating for a new frs/brz.

Just wondering...

What did you guys spend? Could you post your ..

Year and package type, new or used, cost, and area of purchase?

Comparing prices here does not mean anything. They can be very, very regional based upon demand. Just check for what they are sell for in about a 100 mile radius and you will get an idea what they are going for in your area.
You may even get a better idea asking the question here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=82

Oh, my, ....... @KennethJohnson ...... IMHO, that type of data will do nothing but drive you up a wall.

Too many variables, especially with pre-owned cars.

For your planning purposes, I reckon you should be able to buy a new, base model, FR-S, with a manual transmission, for around $25,000 (plus tax & title).

For a used car estimate, I would suggest you consult with KBB for a ball park figure.

Happy hunting and ....... most importantly, pick a pretty one!

I'm kinda close to you. I bought mine in the Bay Area (City Toyota @ Daly City). Got a new 2015 base FRS for about ~$22k.

Kostamojen 01-31-2016 04:03 AM

I live near you, and I bought from here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77969

RichardsFRS 01-31-2016 12:40 PM

43thou miles
2013
15,700$, after taxes and crap 17 and some change

Nessiji 01-31-2016 12:43 PM

2013 never been titled series 10 back in July 2015 for 25k with a set of TRD wheels

Found the car in NC live in Nebraska so nice epic road trip

It's all how you work the deal with new not as much wiggle room but with used all markets vary. When I got my car there was a 2013 hot lava @ the dealership with 20k miles for 18k

Riftur 01-31-2016 05:14 PM

2013 with 19k miles for 19k.

Weren't there guys paying $40K + in order to get one of the first? I seem to recall at least a couple that claimed to have spent that.

Braces 02-01-2016 03:11 PM

25K plus TTL. New 2013 FRS manual "ordered". Only options: rear bumper applique, trunk liner. Could have done without those 2 options, but the car came with them.

YEP!

One 46/48k due to buying into all the b.s. 'extras,' from the dealer.

Like rim guarantee, windshield protector...etc

Hope at least its lesson learned. It's painful at times, but a learning process.

I say i got jipped as i couldn't decide on the options but that total also included the 1.7k in sales taxed added on. So really I got the car for MSRP, just an extra ~1k on unwanted options. The clear bras did come in handy, though haha

I figured buying the car a month before it even reached our shores, i should be able to chose the options, but i'm sure there are many logistical reasons why that is incorrect.

go_a_way1 02-01-2016 04:02 PM

$23.00 USD so thats about 33K CAD I think I paid 3 years ago or whatever it was

Options are added at port or by the dealer so you most certainly should be able to pick them. That said anybody trying to get one of the first would likely be told "take it the way we sell it or it goes to the next in line" so they sort of had you. If buying one now there would be no excuse for them to force options on somebody ordering a new car.

Here's a fun thread of people (myself included) hunting for deals in the first year:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7295
The local dealership in particular marking up to $38k which would be around $40k-$45k OTD depending on how slick the finance guy was and the loan details.

$5k markups were common taking the car into $30k-$35k territory (sometimes over with TTL)

Big ol' complaint thread, lots of cars with similar markups:

Looking at the prices I'm really glad I pulled the trigger on my BRZ for $17k. I got an amazing deal and didn't have to settle for a scion :happyanim:

I paid $27k (plus tax title and reg so $30k) but that was for a Series.Hyperblue so pretty much fully loaded. It still has not yet been built, lol. (It's only been a couple weeks and it was a factory order)

That's fucking bonkers.

Paid mine off in about 14 months iirc, financed ~$17k of the car (~$10k down), all parts bought on CC get paid in full every month because CC interest rates are what 10%... Guess that college degree lost me that thread you guys are starting.
