I gave it up to the wife for the FRS. The only features I considered were.
RWD, 6 Speed manuel, 50/50 weight distribution.

And that's what this car is. Not to mention the feeling of being in a race car just siting still...

Oh no, I get that. And after seeing the 2nd gen tC lose little things like all-auto windows (up/dn, driver/passenger), I'm not exactly surprised. Seems like it's a simple no brainer to include though, and it was one less thing to have to think about.

Ironically the 2014 tC has optional remote start. But nope not even an option or us.

Brz owner. But mine shut off on their own only when in the auto setting. Otherwise mine stay on and beep too. Not sure if that helps

Get a stalk with the auto headlight feature, the light sensor, and wiring, install it and it should work. I started a thread in the DIY section on this exact topic. I'll be able to verify it works when I return from deployment in a few months.

My twenty five year old Celica had auto off headlights. It was triggered by the same door jam switch as the dome light. How has that become too difficult to do now?

As for the OP - never really noticed the official standard feature list. If it's really in print then lead the charge.

This car has a lot of inconvenient non-sense.

I get that they're trying to build a cheap, lightweight sports car...but leaving out features that have been standard on vehicles for more than a decade now is just pathetic.

Gotta live with it now I guess.

Do some of you forget to breathe every now and then?

This is listed on the official scion website, their print brochures, dealer websites, and even the factory-printed window sticker that comes with the car. Several dealers that I've contacted have confirmed that the US-spec FRS does NOT come with auto off headlamps.

I know some of you are going to criticize me but whatever. I went and filed a complaint against Toyota by going to BBB's website about the lack of this advertised feature. If I remember I'll post here with my results. I figure it's at least worth a shot

Please read this thread from the beginning, or at least the last couple of pages.

The FRS DOES have auto off headlamps.

They turn themselves off in twenty minutes (I and others have tested it). That, by definition, is auto off.

lol. you want a lawsuit for "auto-off headlights"? too many litigious self-entitled fools these days
