Just disable the code, its related to cold start catalyst heating and the retarded ignition timing.

Been running this for a week now with no ill-results,so much nicer without the ridiculous noise on cold starts lol

cruizin01 03-31-2014 12:14 PM

That was the next plan. Hadn't researched exactly what it was but knew it was idle related. If that's all it is I'll do it tonight. Thx

I made this change last night and I'm happy to report I didn't wake anyone up this morning. I also disabled the P050B code as a preventative measure. All is well! :w00t:

1Cor10:23 04-16-2014 10:37 AM

@shiv@vishnu I know that the start-up is already reduced but is it possible to eliminate it all together (without ill effects) on future OFT OTS tunes as an option?

Thanks!

Kodename47 04-16-2014 11:29 AM

You want some form of cold start, helps get oil pressure in the system up quickly and gets some heat into components. Personally, I wouldn't allow the car to cold start any less than 1200rpm

Would it be possible to add the tables to ZA1J700d?? :D

Yup, I've implemented across all roms. Yours is probably ZA1JA00C.

My car idles perfect cold, warm, hot now with the new 2014 calibration.

Thanks

ZA1J700d is a much older, deprecated rom - upgrade to the newer A01D or the latest, ZA1JB01D.

Just came across this thread. Great info! Still cold start idling quietly?
Wondering if anyone has any problems since implementing this change?

troek 05-22-2014 08:18 PM

Idling great here!

Okay I'm a bit confused since I didn't see a picture.

In the folder:

Ignition Timing -> Advance
Ignition Timing Post Start

You need to adjust the value to -8?

troek 06-19-2014 06:47 AM

My screen shot dosnt show up? The 3 tables are ignition timing post start and the 2 maf correction tables, also adjust the idle tables lower if ud like.

ahhh, okay, it's the top one.

I was confused because it doesn't show the -8 anywhere.

troek 06-20-2014 06:23 AM

Sorry, that screen was when i was trying 0 degrees timing. No bennefit so i switched it back.

Im trying to turn the high idle down on my car using OFT and romraider, but I'm new to this and don't understand most of it. Could someone walk me through what I need to do? My ID is ZA1J700C if that helps.

Go to OFT site

1. download romraider software from the link provided on downloads page.
2. download thr romraider definitions
3. on romraider site read the how to use romraider info
4. open your tune file in romraider
5. alter required tables, dont alter anything that you dont understand
6. save modified tune file
7. load modified tune file to your OFT
8. FLASH modified tune to car
9. enjoy, drink beer :clap:

I really need some help guys I'm stuck, when I go to romraider to edit the "MAF Correction After Start" table it's not showing up. I'm running vishnu ZA1JA00C 2.05 stage 2 uel map. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would highly appreciate it.

troek 08-24-2014 04:53 AM

you have to use an definition file (XML) that has that table available. try here: https://github.com/TD-D/SubaruDefs/t...20standard/BRZ

if you are editing the new 2.0X roms, id make sure those definitions are compatible before messing with it.

cruizin01 08-24-2014 08:39 AM

How do you determine if they are compatible?

sent from HTC one M8 while driving

troek 08-24-2014 08:50 AM

are you using the 2.0x version tunes? shiv makes it a point not to use any definition files, other than the ones included.
im using the XML he included with 2.0X and it has those tables. maybe he forgot to add them to some rom types?

Also, im using +8 ignition timing post start now, and it seems to be even quieter and smoother. no crazy fuel trims, everyting seems daijoobu.

cruizin01 08-24-2014 08:53 AM

Yeah. That's why I haven't done anything yet. Just trying to determine if it can be done without waiting for him to make new xml's.

troek 08-24-2014 09:30 AM

@Td-d would be the best one to ask, i tried to see if i could figure out how to add those tables to other definition files, but im a bit out of my league im afraid.
UPDATE: i figured it out.

Thank you @troek for helping me get the tables to work. I attached a screenshot of all the changes I made, how does it look? I wasn't sure if I was suppose to use -8 or +8 for the "Ignition Timing Post Start" table.

troek 08-25-2014 03:48 AM

i typed in +8 on accident, and didnt notice it until i flashed, but it seems to work even better, and idles smooth. also did it at the same time as flashing to 2.0 map, and also a new version, so i cant say for sure.

BoostedWrbBrz 09-13-2014 08:40 PM

yeah im stuck here, ive changed the post cold start ignition timing to .04 like that screen shot, however im not seeing the maf correction in gear and in neutral on my file in rom raider. im on the flash 2.06

Tables are there - maybe Shiv hasn't bundled the latest definitions in on the OFT site - that's why it's a better idea to pull the defs off Github. Always the latest. https://github.com/TD-D/SubaruDefs/r...R_ZA1JB01C.xml

Code:

<table name="MAF Correction After Start (Neutral)" storageaddress="11C868">
  <table type="X Axis" storageaddress="11C81C" />
  <table type="Y Axis" storageaddress="11C848" />
</table>
<table name="MAF Correction After Start (In Gear)" storageaddress="11C964">
    <table type="X Axis" storageaddress="11C918" />
    <table type="Y Axis" storageaddress="11C944" />
</table>

What do I do with that code?

Td-d 09-15-2014 01:11 AM

Right click on the link and save as - it's a full definition for Romraider.

Oft guys just be carefull using defs off github as the oft roms can have the calid changed and hence need thecmatching defs from the openflash site. eg an oft 700C rom is exactly the same cas a 900C or an A01C just with calid changed. the oft guys alter the defs to match if you get github defs and your oft rom has been calid changed its not going to work and the tables will be all screwed up.

it will work if the rom yo have is the native rom the series was created wiith ie the latest rom in series

Td-d 09-15-2014 06:49 AM

Ah, yes, of course (that's the problem with that strategy!).

What you could do then is just copy the above code into the xml that you are using for romraider.

Is it just me or are those tables (obviously diff address) defined in the RR version of the A01G def but not the ecuflash one?

Td-d 09-25-2014 06:08 AM

I'm not sure if I added those to the 32bitbase for Ecuflash, can't recall - I'll check.

There are no "MAF Correction" records in 32bitbase that I can find.
